Who would win right now and what sort of fight would it be? Gamboa looks more like a lightweight than a super featherweight to me
I say Casa based on experience.. Casa would take advantage of Gamboa's poor defense.. We saw what happened to Katsidis
Gamboa would blow Casamayor out easily. Katsidis, who isn't 1/10th the fighter Gamboa is and lacks the accuracy/speed/timing/technique/etc. that Gamboa has to say the least, nearly stopped Casamayor and gave him problems with his swarming attack. Gamboa would stop Casamayor in the early rounds and I'm very confident in saying that.. Casa doesn't have the defensive guard defense Jimenez has, nor his chin or reflexes at this point.
The experience Casa has though would be a lot for Gamboa to mess with at this point, Gamboa could win, but the longer it goes, the more Casa will be able to make things awful for him. Casa probably would want to keep this away from a dirty fight though, Gamboa's as strong a ****ing Light welter.
My man Casa by ko..Caa is to smart or that overrated speed..cas ties him up the whole night an wud **** him up over 12
Gamboa. Casa is way past his best and as stated Katsidis gave him ALL he could handle, and Katsidis has nowhere near the speed, skills, or arsenal of Gamboa. I'm not high on Casa at all though, and Gamboa is my fav so I am biased.....I will admit it
But the guy went life and death with Katsidis.. he's nearly shot at this point. I can't imagine how Casamayor could survive Gamboa's attack or do anything to make Gamboa show him respect and fight tentatively against him. I see Gamboa jumping on him, Casamayor panicking a bit and not seeing Gamboa's punches coming, then getting overwhelmed and hurt quickly. Katsidis had a ton of sucesss in that fight, success that Gamboa would have right away without needing to make any adjustments as the fight went on. Obviously, guys like Campbell, JMM, and Guzman would be way too much for Gamboa. But Casa is just a B level "Ring magazine champion" at this point waiting for one big money fight before retiring. Jiminez's performance against Gamboa is underrated IMO. There are very few fighters out there that would last 10 rounds against him. Reading more about Jiminez and seeing him vs Gamboa made me realize that Gamboa fought someone with a solid B level skillset on saturday. Jiminez is a party animal who doesn't focus on training 100%, that's why his stamina is so bad and he lost those other two fights.
I hate posts like this. Dont sit here and say Katsidis is **** compared to Gamboa. Especially when with my own eyes i saw a guy not only Knock Casa down but out of the ring. How can you bag Katsidis out like he did nothing. I just hate people that think Katsidis is **** when Mosley who has sparred with Rocky said watch out for this kid in Katsidis. Gamboa hasnt fought **** and you have him blowing Casa away. WTF. Huki you normally post good things.
agreed ..... Katsidis is great but has holes that a true veteran like Casa exploited no shame in that....all it does is show that Casamayor is more crafty then we thought and no where near as shot as was reported
Thats it. I think Casa showed me one thing that i thought was gone from his skills and that was courage. But Katsidis showed me to that he can and has a Punchers chance against anyone at 135. Great Power. I think theres to much hype over Gamboa right now and until he maybe fights a real top ten fighter at his weight then we will know more.
I'm not trying to disrespect Katsidis as a man or a fighter. He's achieved a lot to be proud of and he deserves a ton of respect. But compared to Gamboa.. come on. Katsidis' performance was not even close to as impressive as Gamboa's performance against Jiminez. Gamboa is a better fighter in every single way.. not just a little bit better, but much, much better. You're acting like I said "**** Katsidis, he performed like **** against Casamayor and he should quit boxing, because he sucks".
Yeah, I have stated that jimenez was a superior opponent i his 10th pro fight than anybody in recent years as a serious prospect has fought and a level more dangerous than anybody Khan has fought. Jimenez sparking Anchondo even easier than Barrios did says a lot. Anchondo's chinny, but Jimenez threw him around the ring 2nd round and thn sparked him cold in the 3rd. Only a solid fringe contender with good power would do such a thing, journeymen don't.
