Both have excellent tools, Both have chins that have been questioned, Both have alot of hype surrounding them. How would this fight go? Predictions?
I like this fight, actually. Gamboa wins this with his hand speed and accuracy. In fact, I think he has power enough anyway, to stop Khan sometime in the later rounds.
I think KhAN is too big for him khan late tko despite his **** chin. Gambao even cant trade at sup feather let alone Lw or Lww.
Come on now, Gamboa is a featherweight, Khan is moving up to light welterweight, other than comparing their overall skill level, this is not really a realistic fight to predict. Yuri is a small FW, would be too small at LW. Khan is a very big LW, and still growing. Just too hard to imagine how this fight would look, too much of a difference in size and weight.
Even with Gamboa being smaller than him, considering his quick start and swarming style, I could see him catching Khan early in the chin, ending the night early. If it were to go past three, I could see Khan outboxing or even stopping Gamboa.
This fight would never happen but is good to talk about due to the hype surroundiong both fighters. Both have great handspeed and skills. I have to say there is something about Khan that tells me he's gonna explode on the world scene. He has all the natural tools (his chin will get better as he steps up in weight) to be a world champ. I think coupled with Roach's brain he could become a p4p top ten. Hell beat kotelnik next month and with the confidence this brings will surprise a lot of people. Believe me, itll happen.
Gamboa early KO. Gamboa's been KD, but never hurt. Khan's chin was tested last September, and his chin failed that test dramatically. His conqueror, Prescott couldn't KO Toledo, who was KO'd in 1 round by the light punching Lamont Peterson. You know what that means? All that "that punch would've KO'd anyone" nonsense is just nonsense. Prescott himself is just another fighter who comes out of Columbia with an incredible, yet padded KO record, due to poor opposition. Khan just has no punch resistance, its worse than having a bad chin, or someone who doesn't recover well. When hit, he just goes out like a light. As soon as he goes against a live opponent with a half decent punch he will be laid out.
Khan's next fight is at 140, Gamboa's at 126. Might aswell start dicussing a Humberto Soto-Vic Darchinyan fight.
