If Pacquiao gets past Diaz ... and Gamboa keeps winning and doing it in impressive fashion could we possibly see a fight between the two next year? ... I just read on ESPN.com that Gamboa's handlers believe that he's good enough to challenge Pacquiao at lightweight given a few more fights this year ... he already has a regional belt ... he already has a top 5 ranking from a sanctioning body and his buzz is growing by the minute --

What do you guys think? and please don't say he's too green because this guy has over 300 amateur fights under his belt, if anything he's reached the pro level a long time ago. He's going into his 10th fight ... Mayweather fought for a title in 18 ... Tszyu fought for a title in 12 ... DLH fought for a title in 12 ...

Make no mistake that Pacquiao is on another level, but considering the hype between the two ... if HBO showcases him against some world class opposition - who knows maybe we could see this fight on PPV early next year.

I'd rather see this fight than Pacquiao v any other lightweight ...

Gamboa is used to the big lights being an olympian and fighting in front of thousands of people ...

Could Gamboa possibly win? ... could this fight be pulled off? ...

No one believes that this fight could happen?

This guy is far ahead in the game ... he's polished and has international experience ... something that alot of pro's can't say ...

I'd love to see this fight, but it probably won't ever happen. Gamboa is high risk-low reward and by the time he is a big name, Pac will probably be retiring.

He's also better off staying at 126/130lb, he isn't that big.

Man Thats insane ... that makes me think that this fight can actually be pulled off ....

I know if TopRank sees an opportunity to make some serious money off of this fight - he's going to make it happen ... and don't let it be in Florida or something ... or even in Vegas ... I think this kid has a strong following and can put butts in seats.

i don't know. pac is now conditioned by arum to fight big name fighters at higher weights to maximize his earning potential. imo, by the time this fight could have happened is when gamboa is a big name by then while pac is shot and going back down to 130/135 after his debacle against hatton or dela hoya.

I think Pacquiao has the ability to make money off of his name alone ... he doesn't need to fight bigger fighters ... he's setting records at lighter weight classes and is stetting a standard for fighters under the welterweight limit.

If he fights Gamboa ... who's heard of world wide ... I think it could generate a nice dollar amount.

Pac has nothing to be worried about ... Pac has a huge name and a huge following ... an Olympic gold medalist under his belt would mean dividens ...

Gamboa can make a great legacy winning titles at 126 & 130

but if hes going to risk all that just to fight Pacman at 135 then hes a stupid idiot
