As far as the thread topic, Gamboa would take it via TKO. He's got the proper footwork to maneuver around Abril and the hand speed to land on Abril, before Abril can re-adjust and smother. Gamboa has great waist and headmovement that would allow him to slip and counter. Something the Mexican mummy Rios lacked the capacity to do. :good

Well first off Gamboa wont move up at lightweight and face a healthy slick Abril who is pretty fast. Gamboa yeah is faster but will his power comes with him at a higher weight? And lets be real the real reason gamboa at first wanted to fight rios cause he knows rios will kill himself to make weight. Gamboa will go no where near Abril.

 

Abril could surprise everyone................

I have one abit overrated and the other severely underrated. Ill go against the grain and go with Abril. His 2 losses prior Rios are controversial so basically all his losses are controversial meaning this guy should really be undefeated. If Gamboa was as intelligent as Abril Id give the edge to Gamboa, but Abril has the frame to give anyone 135-147 hell. He has good power to something many havent brought up if not for Bam Bams chin most 135lbers would be seeing stars. Abril-Guzman or rematches with Lundy and Prescott would be interesting. With fair judging I think Abril should upset Gamboa. Very good big man vs very good little man.
