you know whats wrong with boxing is fights like these similar to pac-hoya. Yes pac won but look at his win over oscar now, weight drained, no credit. Its these draining opponents and catchweights that kills boxing. I don't hate gamboa at all, a slight fan in fact but a tim bradley fight is ridiculous right now specially asking bradley to drain back to 140, when there are more marketable fighters and equally big names(like rios) who are at 140 already. Again I don't dislike gamboa but I just despise this kind of fights, results will always be full of excuses. Bradley isn't scared of a featherweight lol..atsch and u call me no logic? lol...the irony of a bias cuban fan Is catchweights how boxing works right now?
Bradley probably already cuts like crazy to get to 147, to expect him to drop more is ludicrous. It's a lot easier and less harmful to put on weight than it is to lose it when you're already lean.
Gamboa should just move to 135 & knock on Broner's door. Better fight, probably make more money & get HBO exposure. Tho Gamboa would Prob get his ass kicked by Adrien.
I would rather Bradley refuse a cut weight than defend his WW title at a weight limit which is lower than the WW division.
Bradley, like most fighters these days, is looking for payday fights. As good as Gamboa is he is still not a household name. In the business of boxing he is a high risk, low pay. Another log was correct in that why would either man fight each other. Lose lose for Bradley. nothing spectacular for Gamboa. There are so many Welter weights for Bradley to fight. I don't even think its worth Gamboa fighting Broner. Broner is going to end up a welter also at some point. Both Broner and Gamboa need to fight more often and better opposition to have any kind of collision course. Now Gamboa vs Donaire would be good or Broner vs Rios or Matyssee would be good.
Gamboa should fight Broner...or ask Rios if he can have that payday back that he ducked away from.... either way that glass is getting shattered
