At 122, how would you see this fight going? Gamboa looks stronger, and slightly more athletic while Hamed is probably more powerful, and has some very neat baiting tricks that confuses most orthodox boxers. Both in the prime, have about the same speed. Hamed has shown the ability to win from being KD. The jury is still out on Gamboa's chin. I can see both of them missing a lot of shots on each other. Gamboa has an easier time hitting orthodox opponents but Hamed's style is so different, I can't see Gamboa having an easier time hitting him. Hamed will also have a helluva time trying to get a bead on Gamboa, who's speed and counters will have Hamed guessing. What do you think?
i like both fighters, i agree with gamboa's chin being suspect. Its a question if he could take punches with the power of hamed but since gamboa has a great amateur background with a lot of fights, i'm going to pick gamboa perhaps by TKO..hamed although having not been KOed before has experienced KDs through his career(like the kelly fight).
which were all knock-downs because he was off balance, not once did I see Hamed down past the count of 3.
It's a bit of a silly question since Gamboa has been effectively a pro boxing in the amateurs for many years and has a wealth of experience. Hamed turned pro at 19 so after 10 fights he was still very inexperienced while Gamboa is a very experienced boxer.
Hammed also was one of the hardest p4p hitters in boxing history, with very fast hands and an unorothodox style. Gamboa keeps his hands low which is not a good tatic against the prince.
Gamboa strikes me as the more natuarally talented of the two but if he fought as carelessly as he does normaly he'd get whipped.
Gamboa has unreal foot movement and defensive skills, almost defies gravity not too mention blazing handspeed but Nas was in some ways even m0ore a freak of nature.it was uncany the power he could get with the angles he would punch from.nas could throw knockout punches from any number of unorthodox stances or angles.totally impossible to read.for me,Nas finds the range in this one and lays one on Gamboa. The Nas that fought Barrera was finished, like all great punchers,et al Tyson etc he lost the basics realying soley on his punch.
Very true but Naz after 10 fights was so inexperienced compared to Gamboa after 10 fights so it's not a fair comparison. Naz was a bantam / s. bantam then while Gamboa is a big super feather. It's just not a good comparison.
Gamboa after 10 pro fights has had 400+ amateur fight and is 26 a developed fighter physically Hamed after 10 pro fights is under developed at 19-20 and not ready imo. Gamboa by stoppage/ko
Gamboa is not a big superfeather at all. He could easily make feather by the looks of him and he was a flyweight at the olympics, so he is by no means bigger. Amatuers mean very little when fighting pro. Styles make fights and Gamboa's low hands would leave him open to being hit and when Naz hits him :scaredas:
