Yeah, I know that most of the Cubans are on FB but I hadn't read anything about it. I just hope that Yuriorkis' marital problems don't affect his performance in the ring, specially against someone like John who is very skilled. :good

Really hope this happens. Gamboa needs a fight like this to establish himself as the top featherweight and on the P4P lists (although he's already in my top 10).

Top Rank haven't really done that much for him imo and the least they can do is push to make this happen.

I'll take Yuri over anyone from 122-130.

Don't count on it. If a p4p'er in JMM can't do it, what made you think a Gamboa can? I think this is a toss-up, experience vs. youth.

GAMBOA is a BEAST! John should avoid GAMBOA at all cost! It will be an UGLY LOSS for John if the fight happens..

I'm not sure if Gamboa will ko John but I think he has a much better chance than the JMM who fought him did.

It's worth remembering that the 126 Marquez was much less aggressive than he later became. Before he modified his style, he was more of a mover and pure counter-puncher. It was the John loss, and the inability to land big fights, that led to him becoming more aggressive and getting ko's.

Gamboa doesn't have the technical skills of JMM but he has superior hand-speed and genuine power. A straight killer.

Fair point. Just don't see this as a one-sided affair as others seem to imply here (who i think haven't really seen a bout of John's nor followed his career).

I definitely view it as the biggest test of Gamboa's career. John is a quality fighter with an excellent jab, good counter-punching skills and he showed in his last fight that he can get inside, stay there and land heavy shots (although I doubt that would be his strategy against Gamboa).

Is this fight confirmed and they are definately looking for a venue, or is this just a rumour?

If it's true then awesome, I like seeing big fights held outside of America.

Terrific news that this fight is even being considered. Hopefully it comes to fruition to establish 126lb supremacy.

I'd like to see Hasegawa on the undercard if it takes place in Japan.

Bro, I just saw John against Yordan and he looks in slow motion compared to Gamboa. He also throws 1 to 2 punches at a time without much combinations. In other words, John will get brutalized and blinded by Gamboa's speed, power and accumulation of punches. :-(

This is one of dream fights. If gamboa beats john he should be a p4p ranked fighter imo. Certainly the feather weight champ of the world.

He already beat solido who would go onto beat juanna. I'd love to see him finish off at feather against john, lopez and cab then I say he makes the jump to lightweight and makes his name there also.

I hope to god this fight happens

so when John takes out gamboa, what will you fanboy say then. Anyone who beat marquez is nothing to be trifled with.
