Being of cuban descent, I realise and take nothing away from gamboa, but i had a sneaking suspicion that he would get knocked down in this fight, Why ....because when confidence turns into arrogance, when you get hit you show defiance and theres a sublety between the two, when you show composure, when i was younger i thought i was bullet proof, and really beleive it till i got shot wid a .22 cap gun in my breast plate, let me tell you one thing theres some powerful bush masters about, (elite fighters) and i put a wager on you that LInares will stop him, with linares composure under fire, this will take Gamboa , heart away gradually, and when he suffers his first lost he will ironically learn to be a great fighter, gamboa you aint bullet proof, theres a hellcat wid some missiles on lock waiting peacefully for your arrogance
You don't need to worry about Gamboa.. He would take Linares out. If you're like Max Kellerman and you're more impressed by Linares' performance against Oscar Larios than Gamboa's performance over Jiminez, then you simply lack boxing knowledge.
Huki your the expert, I call it as i see it, sorry to go against you i will change my opinion to suit you if you like your the boss:thumbsup
:blood. Larios is a much better fighter than Jimenz and would have beat good old Darling up. You are being very pretentious about the whole situation, a win and KO of a former WC is not less impressive than a dominating performence over a journey man by so much that a person "lacks boxing knowledge" to think it. I do think Gamboa is more talented than Linares and would beat him in a year or so. But damn man you don't have to be a dick about it.
huki is not an expert. he just follows everything that amsterdam says. many here are nuthuggers of a particular fighter but huki is definitely worst. he's a nuthugger of a nuthugger. this fellow doesn't even have his own mind when it comes to being a boxing fan. :-(
Larios is not a better boxer then Jemenez by any sense of the word. Jemenez was a smart fighter and tough as hell too. He could of folded under the constant clean punches he was taking but he knew he would get hit 5-6 times to land one good counter. Jemenez impressed me with the way he fought that fight being overmatched by speed and strength. Gamboa beats the breaks off of Linares.
I think Gamboa is too overhyped and Linares would KO him right now. Gamboa is extremely fast, but his defence is not good at all, and Linares is pretty fast himself so Gamboa would be gettin tagged.
Linares would exploit the defensive flaws of Gamboa to beat him to a fairly close UD (8-4 or something like that) if they fought now but stop pushing on Gamboa damn look at his opposition at this point its incredible. If he goes to fast he's gonna be another David Reid....
