NOW that gamboa has moved down to 126 how does this fight go down and who wins since gamboa is going to fight for a title in his next 3-5 fights
Gamboa easy, Linares is much slower, easy to hit and freezes up and resets when pressed hard. Gamboa is also too strong for Linares. Watch a bunch of people pick Linares though, being fooled by the hype.
I think you are the fool. Linares is making steady progess, as is Gamboa, why do you have describe one of them as being "hype"? I don't see any hype surround Jorge Linares, he is proving how good he is in the squared circle.
Different types of hype. The type of hype Gamboa has is that he will one day be an elite, which is very possible given his amazing physical gifts and strength, the type of hype Linares has is that he's already an elite and better than he actually is. Linares is pretty slow and can be pretty sloppy, he's also hittable, some people are comparing him to a prime DLH, it's absurd. Everyone accepts Linares as a near-elite fighter, when he's far from it, he's just a 'good fighter'. Most people accept Gamboa as a potential serious gem in the rough and just have high expectations.
Linares is poised and controlled, has a very varied offense and good ring generalship. The shorter Gamboa with his overconfident style and better speed might win a few rounds early but he would get drowned out eventually. Linares by UD or late round TKO.
The accumulation power of Linares is going to stop Gamboa, despite the fact that Linares will be the one tagged MORE than Gamboa in this fight? Gamboa is the harder hitter, much faster and has incredible timing in his punches also. You're silly.:yep
you're beginning to make me think of JohnCo, but i'll still attempt to respond to your post seriously. Gamboa has not yet proven he is a more powerful puncher than Linares. Speed comes with power but its also comes with levarage, which Linares has more of. Linares also throws straighter punches than Gamboa. As the fight wears on Linares' power will still be there because he is more controlled than Gamboa and will have spent less energy. Gamboa has shown he is not very impervious to being hit flush and one good punch is often enough for a good finisher like Linares to end a fight. I would not expect a KO but a TKO or a UD with knockdown(s) is something that wouldn't surprise me at all edit. As for timing, timing is the kind of thing Gamboa should be worried about, not so much Linares. Speed is what bothers Linares, but Gamboa is too inexperienced at the pro ranks to take advantage of it over 12 rounds.
Gamboa would dominate Linares. I don't think stylistically Linares has anything going for him in this matchup. He shows good combinations in the center of the ring when they present themself. He doesn't show the ability to do this when under fire however, nor does he show great footwork to get himself out of such situations. Honestly, the only part of his game that impresses me at all is his ability to throw combos as I said, which won't help him against someone with faster hands and better combos. When he's pressed by a stronger, faster fighter with a much better workrate and better combinations, I don't see how we can say from what we've seen that he would respond well. He'd get his ass beaten severely in my honest opinion. Not even close given the styles, Linares is no great. The comparisons I've seen to Sanchez are laughable and unfounded.
well i picked linares as he seems the more exprienced in the pro ring and from what i've seen of SCAMBOA he's just not as good as he's made out to be. he needs alot more im provement
Think of JohnCo for citing the truth? When has Lianres faced a FAST oppoennt, one with really good timing, good power with the timing? When has he shown that he doesn't freeze and reset when under pressure and workrate? Does Gamboa not bring all of those factors in a BLAZE?:nut Linares is nothing compared to Gamboa. How do you think Gamboa would have dealt with Gamaliel Diaz? 1-3 rounds in a flawless display? Or even better, the much heralded win over a totally shot Larios, who's there to be hit and undersized? Wake up people....
Spot on assessment Sweet. He's incredibly overrated and all of this regard is unfounded, he's shown nothing that resembles a top P4P fighter or potential for it. The comparisons to a young DLH, JMM and Salvador ****ign Sanchez are indeed laughable and show a general lack on collective boxing knowledge by these offenders.
Gamboa ko's Linares inside the first half of the fight......I have done this analysis too much already so ill leave it open for now
Jorge Linares would ko Gamboa inside 5 rounds. Gamboa has talent yes but has not been tested yet. Linares is in a different class.
