wow its pretty split here, I thought for sure Gamboa would be getting atleast 3/4ths of the votes, since he moved down in weight and all

I'ed lean Gamboa, but it's much closer than Amsterdam makes it out to be. Same poll was put up yesterday and draw was an option, and I voted draw. My view hasn't changed.

You overrate Linares, Larios was tagging plenty on this guy and is a feather fist, slow fighter at 126 and shot man. SHOT.

Tornado Gamboa in the same scenerio. Pfft, you going to see some bitches heads getting knocked off my friend.:good

Not yet bro. I think we both see the same ceiling for him, I just think he has a little while longer before he gets there.

Gamaliel Diaz shook up Linares in the first, troubled him a tiny bit with pressure... no way does Linares survive a tornado attack from such a strong opponent.

He's not ready for elite's yet, but he's sure blowing out fringers like a top titlist would. I think he would have iced Diaz easier.

He doesn't need anymore development at all. Gamboa is already as developed as he will ever be. He is 26 years old already? Slowing down his career will only hurt him, he needs to face world class opposition and he has to do it soon.

I agree, but I think he needs to work his way up to the biggest punchers, and can't just jump right in against big punchers. He has some bad habits that I think will go away naturally if he gradually steps up against harder and harder hitters.

I see no reason for him not to go world class though. I'd favor him against the other beltholders at 126 right now.

I think Gamboa wins, although I don't think it would be a blow-out as such. Linares has shown some weaknesses against pressure fighters who keep throwing punches, something that would suit Gamboa perfectly. Also he isn't great defensively, he does get tagged quite a bit when his opponent takes it too him. Of course Gamboa isn't great defensively either, it's because of this I could see him getting KD while off balance at some stage (allthought not hurt badly). Gamboa will force him to back up and put him on the defensive, his disadvantage in speed will get him beat to the punch. I don't think Linares will react nearly as well as Jimenez did in this situation, as he isn't as big/strong and lacks the chin of Darling. (although Linares is a superior fighter)

I'm sure Gamboa will get hit quite a bit while he's pressuring, however his own punches will have a greater effect due to his forward momentum. Physically Gamboa is extremely strong, while Linares is lanky and thin, up close this may allow Yuri to bully and control his opponent (allowing him to get off short flurries). I expect this fight to be kind of similiar to Linares-Larios, except Gamboa will take advantage of Jorge's leaky defence/vulnerabilites to pressure and land the far better punches.

Gamboa TKO 9, although he'll cop plenty in return.
