Let me start with my prediction, Mayweather by a close UD.

Now, the people saying that Gamboa gets hit too much, did you know that Gamboa is the second slickest defensive fighter in the game today, right after Jr? Money has the edge with only 16% connected on him average, but Gamboa is close behind with only 20%. HBO had an article about this like 1-2 months ago. Donaire was third with only 21%.

Now, this would be a pick em fight because Gamboa is a beast and even a lot faster than the fast 130lb Mayweather. The reason why I pick Mayweather is because I consider him the best fighter of our generation, far better than Manny and all the others. I think Yuri will also be a P4P great one day, but from what we've seen, Money at 130 was simply in a league of his own. Gamboa will too, but he needs to show before we can compare him to Money.

I'm a fan of both guys, but wow. This fight Floyd would dominate.

Mayweather was a monster at 130. He schools Gamboa all day every day.

Floyd counters him to a one-sided decision if not stop him. Gamboa is pretty good but Floyd was great at that weight.

Great post. A lot of people don't realize that Gamboa is getting much better defensively and now even more with Steward. Against Ponce de Leon he was in total control and hardly got hit.

When Gamboa finally learns to combine his great offensive skills with a great defense he is going to be on Floyd's level, no doubt! ;)

    Excellent analysis!

It's very difficult to actually compare them cause even though Gamboa has fought a couple of times at 130lbs it was when he was starting. I highly agree with many of your points. Floyd at 130lbs was very good but I think a prime Casamayor would have given him fits.

Gamboa is way better than Casamayor ( in all departments ) and if Joel would had given May problems ( or even defeat ) then Gamboa can very easily defeat him.

It's just like you said, no one's opinion is wrong. It's just for fun and to see what most fans think.

I think that the reason that hardly anyone voted for Gamboa is because he still has to make an impact in 130, but what would happen if Gamboa takes Rios to school?

    Change of opinions? ;)

Floyd KO. Gamboa can be as fast and powerful as he wants but it wont matter if one guy actually has real skills.
    Its butting a B, B- fighter against a A fighter.

Gamboa is not a B fighter, Lopez, Salido etc are B fighters. Gamboa is Elite. :good

That's because he's been cherrypicking his oponents for most of his career , ask him why he didn't fought Casamayor . Gamboa by KO . Peace .

Love, love, love Gamboa! think he is the next big thing . . . but he loses to PBF. Floyd is a better all around fighter, Gamboa is improving his D and looks to going to the next level. that's the level PBF has past long ago.
