Gamboa fights somewhat like a little Tyson, but unlike Tyson, his defense was not on par with his explosive offense. Until just recently, no more than 2-3 fights ago, most noticeably in the Deleon fight, when he couldn't ko his opponent which was something I always brought up because it was bound to happen, he did impress me with some boxing skills he didn't display before. I said over and over again PDL, a former one dimensional puncher, had a more technical style thanks to Nacho Beristein, that would trouble even Gamboa, but went through deaf ears. First half of the fight, PDL was shocking not only Gamboa, but everyone in attendance and being witness in the fight and surprised Gamboa was in an actual fight. Gamboa displayed some good movement and didn't get frustrated as most punchers do. So Gamboa adapted well even tho he looked alittle worried at first. So Gamboa showed he does have world class boxing skills and didn't underestimate PDL like most of his fans did, which was a very good sign as well. A fighter like Floyd tho had just about every advantage over Gamboa except for power, but so did Chico Corrales. Gamboa would have his moments, maybe even staggering Floyd, but if anyone can make Gamboa miss and capitalize on his mistakes and use his own power against him it would be Floyd. The thing about Floyd is he is so versatile he knows how to handle shorter fighters on the inside as he does taller fighter on the outside and his resume 130-135 towers over Gamboa's. A definite decision win for Floyd, but it would be competitive of course.

With this statement, it proves u haven't seen Mayweather at this weight. His best weight as a fighter. He had excellent speed, power, defense and hell of a combo puncher then. Ko's Gamboa.

Why did you even post this poll if you're going to dismiss any answer that doesn't line up with your's? Is it so hard to accept that he's got some room to grow?

Floyd was a beast at 130 and is head and shoulders above anyone Gamboa has fought. He's got talent, skill, and an obvious physical gift, but just because his defense has looked better in the last year doesn't mean it puts him in Floyd's league. Maybe in a few years, but from what I've seen, he's just not ready yet.

i havent see Gamboa yet reaching Floyds greatness, i hate to admit that Floyd wins this fight. But Gamboa would be a live underdog.
