Hopefully this comes off. It could be even more explosive than Lopez-Mtagwa was.

Always enjoyed watching Mtagwa on Telefutura and ESPN2, good to see him getting some attention.

Wow. This could be every bit as interesting as Lopez-Mtagwa.

So what I understood is Gamboa is going to fight Mtagwa next while Juanma moves up and fights Luevano?

So does that mean that when Gamboa and JuanMa fight it will be a Unifacation match? That would be even better.

Didn't even think about that, but yeah it would be a unification. of course given they both win they're upcoming fights.

On paper, yeah - same as Lopez would have. Gamboa can be dropped, though - and Mtagwa would keep coming even with his head being used a speedbag.

You need to watch the Dibb vs. Mtagwa fight. Dibb beat him pretty easily and Mtagwa looked like he didn't have a clue. Gamboa would embarrass this guy. Mtagwa is a journeyman who's being hyped up because he gave a highly touted fighter a good fight. He's still a journeyman.

Gamboa has either an interim title or a "regular" title(John is the real WBA FW champ). I didn't think you could unify either of those belts.

That's a good point. However, that doesn't change the fact that Mtagwa matches up badly with Gamboa. Mtagwa struggled badly with Dibb's handspeed and fake ass Hamed head movement. He would be in all sorts of trouble against Gamboa. JuanMa is much slower than Dibb or Gamboa. His defense is also very pourous, and he has very little in the way of head movement.

I've seen Mtagwa before, I know exactly what he is and isn't. He's not a world-beater because he gave Lopez all he can handle, and I don't think either guy showed world class skill on Saturday night. That said, Gamboa isn't exactly a seasoned pro in comparison to Lopez. He has roughly the same speed, power and skill advantages (in the same neighborhood, anyhow) as JuanMa was supposed to enjoy. Lopez fought stupidly because Mtagwa's persistence and pressure threw him off and he's too green to know how to deal with that. It remains to be seen how Yuri will react to the same kind of persistence and pressure - he's just as green and unproven under duress. Hell, Garcia baited Gamboa into a slugfest (an extremely one-sided slugfest that Gamboa won easily with his blinding speed) and Garcia hardly applied any pressure. Mtagwa will get hit often and hard with Gamboa's speed...but he'll probably stick around longer than Garcia. And that may rattle Gamboa and throw him off his game. That's what I'm saying.

Here's where you're dead wrong. Gamboa is way faster than JuanMa, and that would be the difference in the fight. I emplore you to watch the Dibbs/Mtagwa fight. Mtagwa had all sorts of trouble with Dibbs' speed. Gamboa is a faster fighter than Dibbs. Lopez's speed is nowhere near the level of Gamboa's or even Dibbs'.
