I am sorry, mate, but sean and C Money, amongst others, gave Pavlik a very good chance against Dawson. Are they rubbed the wrong way by huki too? :huh

What I may or may not think about huki's views about Romanians has nothing to do with my criticism of his agendas as a boxing analyst...let's stick to the matter in hand, please.

I wholly disagree, Khan's fought nothing but ****ing cream puffs domestic and the only world guy he fought was well past it and had zero punching power anyway, was also badly undersized in St Clair.

But even if you want to run with that, Khan's been a pro for 3 years, more time to acquire fights, Gamboa's been a pro for exactly 1 year, 1 month and has been very active.

After he gets through Jimenez, you'll have no argument that Khan's fought better opposition. Limond's, St Clair's and the other puffs are not as dangerous as world level, hard punching gate keeper's.

some people are just more skilled than others, gamboa is more skilled than pacquiao, talk all you want about gamboa only having 10 pro fights, but this guy is no regular prospect, he comes from the best school of boxing in the world, has a bag full of amatuer fights, and if you look at the way he is build, its no surprise that he has what it takes to beat Pacquiao, regardless of what you people say.. Gamboa is no new prospect in boxing, he is one of the best in his weight class, if not the best who is just getting the chance to show it at a late age. (sadly for all the boxers today, not late enought... cause his in his prime right now... thats why he only has 10 fights cause he got his chance late unlike other boxers who turn pro whenever they want)

I watched the fights! Pac is bloody effective at winning professional boxing fights. All that matters here, right? He has beaten ELITE fighters. Gamboa hasn't even beaten solid C level fighters yet.

Watch his fights! Look at how he comes in unguarded. Pac would KO him coming in and he isn't even a counterpuncher.

Let's keep it real, please; I'm getting a bit fed up of all this nonsense...

Pac has achieved more than Tyson. Whereas Tyson had greater skill, Pac had his stamina and mental fortitude. They each balance each other out.

    What nonsense?:think

What does who Pac has beaten have much to do with a potential match up with others? Thus what I am talking about here.

Guzman has beaten a good B+, but not an elite, would Pac steamroll through him also?

Pac's a top 3 P4P and people have him losing to a prospect with 9 fights. Even though he has a decorated amateur career, that doesn't say much about the current p4p rankings. Maybe in the future Gamboa can take him but I just can't see it now.
    Pac TKO 5

This nonsense of wildly overrating certain unproven fighters to put down elite, semi-elite and very good to semi-elite fighters you don't like. It's wrong and boring...:deal

Exactly, if were talking about what we have simply seen on film, this fight is a no contest and Gamboa will get obliterated. However because people assume Gamboa is this slickmeister defensive fighter, they assume he will do that with Pac and Pac wont touch him. Pac will touch him, no way out of that one.

Other than Pac, who am I putting down right now and have in the last few months?

I have not put down any legit semi-elite's that didn't deserve being taken down a notch due to circumstances.

You want to see a good prospect?

Here's one of the same age as Gamboa, who has a stunning amateur record.

I never see Amsterdam argue that he'd beat Calzaghe or Kessler at 168, for example!

Barrera has more skills than Pacquiao.

Stop harping on about amateur fights, theres a reason why not every amateur gold medalist becomes a successful pro. Its a good base to build on but thats all it is, a base.

Were talking about pro fights, Gamboa has shown nothing in the pro's that could even worry Pacquiao at this point.

You underrate Pavlik, who is better than a solid B level, at MW.

You underrate Taylor, who is also better than a solid B level, at MW.

You underrate Cotto, who is performing at a higher level than Calzaghe at the moment.

You overrate Dawson, who's chin and mental strength is still unproven.

    ...

Thing is: professional boxing is about hurting and not getting hurt. It doesn't matter whether you have "supernatural" skills or not; you can be limited but if you hurt effectively, whilst not getting hurt, you're bringing home the bacon. This is the bottom line.
