Gamboa vs. Pac in a 6 rounder, right now, who do you favour.

Friends?! You start the thread writing/describing 1 dimensional to pac?
Obviously you are a hater.

 

Wow.... How ridiculous. Putting an inexperienced prospect in against a power punching, and proven p4p elite fighter. For the naive who have decided that Gamboa can take Pac, take a few seconds to think... How many prospect do you see that look GREAT against weak opposition, with terrific amatuer pedigrees, yet that struggle against top comp. How many great prospects do you see get exposed every year... If the top technical fighters in the sport like JMM and Barerra can't stop themselves from getting tagged by Pac, how the hell can Gamboa? A guy with a heap of defensive flaws? This is extreme, even for you Amsterdam. Pac KO 4. Gamboa would be totally overwhelmed. He has never faced anyone even remotely as good as Pac. He certainly hasn't been hit by anyone with THAT much punching power, not even close. Overall, he is so unproven at this point against different styles it is laughable to suggest a Gamboa victory.

 

Let me just clear something up for everyone as well. This thread is clearly made to influence people, even in the poll options. Just because Pac is a one dimensional fighter, doesn't mean he is going to be easy to beat. Look at Tyson, Wright, Chavez etc etc... All guys that when you fight them, you knew EXACTLY what they were going to do. Yet at the same time, it is very hard to stop. Pac is a GREAT one dimension. The best fighters in the sport, proven top level elite guys, have been unable to stop him. They may have had moments or rounds even, but nothing that demonstrated a clear cut plan of attack that has worked consistently. Don't be fooled. Pac is a very very good fighter. You don't become the No.2 p4p in the world by being a one dimensional chump. As much as certain posters would have you believe with their blatant personal bias!!

Bad post. First off, Gamboa is NOT talented like Roy Jones. Never will be. Secondly, Roy Jones JR just after his pro debut would have been KTFO by Pavlik. Go back and watch Jones during these early fights. Good fighter, great talent, so much potential. But he developed leaps and bounds as his pro career progressed. Putting him in against a pro fighter of that calibre would be suicide at that young stage of his career. If it weren't so, more great prospects would be confident of taking risks earlier.

 

I am amazed at the objectivity of your posts during this thread. Great to see you thinking for yourself. I had you picked as Amsterdam's sidekick, who simply reiterated his opinions... Maybe i was wrong??

 

Decebal is actually quite objective. Amsterdam knows his stuff but recently hes been more of a comic writer with extreme bias. Huki has too much stylistic bias towards certain fighters with certain styles. Brooklyn & KG are the better posters of this site. And ive read alot of your posts, havent found any yet to disagree on and glad you come here to slap some reality on people. Too many naive posters easily swayed by guys who post alot sounding clever.

 

Agree with all of this, and vice versa as well in regard to your own posting. This post is pretty much the exact way that I look at these guys at the moment as well.

 

i am a gamboa nuthugger.. huki, before i remembered you reacted to a comment of mine when i hype gamboa as the best. You didn't believe in gamboa before and that was just months ago. I think decebel was right that you just follow other credible posters like a dog *ruuff*ruuff*:rofl

anyway back to topic, gamboa would perhaps win by UD or SD at 6 rounds. At 12 rounds, its still a question mark and i'd take pac as he's proven

i don't think he KOs pac as pac has one hell of a chin, i'd like to see how gamboa's power at elite level is

I've never said that Duddy would KO Pavlik, I've always thought Pavlik KO's him early. Even Duddy nuthuggers would agree.

Give some proof of when I've talked negatively about Gamboa. I've been high on him since the first time I've seen him on youtube. Maybe you're confusing me with the poster Hrak or something..

Not that it would even matter what I said back in October 2007... I have learned a ton about boxing since then and look at matchups much differently now. But anyone with vision would be highly impressed by Gamboa watching him for the first time.
