Didn't mean to be so rude... I'll repeat myself more clearly. Yes, Hamed was hyped. He wasn't ALL hype though, there was clearly something special about him and that was confirmed in his career. As a pro, Gamboa has already had some shaky moments against some very ordinary fighters and I'm 99% certain that he will NOT live up to his hype. If you take a hard look at him, he doesn't really have the tools for it, all he has is speed.
Somebody please tell me...Had someone seen gamboa hurt? i mean getting up wobbling,dizzy...taking a full count to recover?,ok then he gets KO b/c of his balance...he has flaws and i think he've been working on it..he had fought decent competition for 15 fights.He-as it was Hameed- is exciting to watch,he doesnt go up there to dance around or taking dives...for those who think he doesnt have a heavy punch talk to Al Seeger. Im not taking anything away from Hameed,i always rooted against him but didnt miss one of his fights b/c i knew he was there for the show. But honestly i didnt see Hameed against Morales who was the big name at the time and when he faced Barrera he looked like a class C boxer.
Hamed didn't avoid Morales. He avoided JMM. Against MAB he didn't look like a class C boxer, he looked like a world-class fighter going up against a first ballot HOF fighter who took away all his tools with a good game plan and the ability to stick to it. Hamed knew any of the big 3 Mexicans were going to take his title as soon as they got in the ring with him. That doesn't mean he couldn't fight, and he wasn't a high level fighter, it means he knew greatness when he saw it and knew he wasn't on their level. No shame in that, very few fighters historically could compete with any of those guys. It has absolutely no relevance to Gamboa's situation though.
What he did against Barrera is hardly relevant here. How can you hold that against Hamed when Gamboa hasn't even fought a single world class fighter? I like the way Gamboa has been brought up against winning fighters but he hasn't touched world class and thats the fact of the matter, so I don't think we have to be questioning Hamed's ability against HOF'ers. He was a world class fighter and proved it against such foes.
Hamed was just as quick and more powerful. What does the amateurs have to do with anything? Hamed turned pro at 18, so he didn't have time for an amateur career. Since when has Gamboa in the pro's so far shown that he's on the level of a prime Marco Antonio Barrera? Number one, Hamed is BRITISH. Number two, what the **** does that have to do with anything? Tool. Funny, because the likes of Marco Ramirez & Adailton De Jesus had no trouble landing power punches against Gamboa and knocking down. Be sure that Hamed would land, and when he does, it's lights out for Yuriorkis.
Gamboa has proven he is a world class fighter and the fastest, strongest most powerfulest featherweight that ever lived! Gamboa KO3 Hamed Gamboa UD Pep Gamboa KO4 Saddler Gamboa KO1 Sanchez
besides Barrera (and Kelley maybe)wich other world class hameed fought? and kelley made him sweat, dont forget
you know what you're talking about mate. i agree 1000%! Had Barrera fought Naz a few years back there was no way in hell he would have won
I dont know about Morales, but I KNOW that hamed would have beaten MAB had they fought 3-4 yrs before, when hamed didnt rely totally on his awesome power. I mean have you seen youtube video 'little prince big fight', which shows the build up to the fight? Naz hardly TRAINED for the fight! he had nobody pushing him to train for the fight. and for minimal training he didnt do too badly against the mexican.
