Gamboa vs Rocky Juarez march 3 in LA

Pretty poor fight for Gamboa, he's going on(by fight night) 6 months between fights, isn't coming back from a bad defeat, and is turning 30-he doesn't need any tune-up type of fights. By fight time Juarez will be looking at one win in 5 years, he's done and poses little threat to Gamboa.

I'd prefer to see Gamboa jump right to 135 and challenge someone like Antillon, Escobedo, or Katsids-someone interesting who might prepare him some for Rios not a one-sided beatdown of a shot Juarez. If Gamboa wants to take on Juarez than thats up to him but I really hope HBO doesn't get on board with this, let Arum put this on his Top Rank Live series or ESPN thats where it belongs.

I like Gamboa, but I dont like this fight.

 

Gamboa vs the Dib/John winner needs to happen.

Or just move him up to Super Featherweight if there's really no one else to fight at Featherweight.

HBO is doing a Rios/Gamboa doubleheader this date. HBO should reject Juarez.
There was talk of Salgado or Martinez getting this fight

 

This is what Bob Arum does man. He keeps Gamboa and Lopez far from each other, one loses, and the other gets to fight faded fighters. How much building does Top Rank figure they have to put on Gamboa? Let him prove what he has to prove in the ring against fighters like Mikey Garcia. The whole world knows the kid can fight. The whole world knows that he can be caught cold and dropped. It's a matter of styles. Stop pussyfooting around with these fighters and pair them up against the best there is out there. **** like this just really pisses me off. I don't wanna see him fight Juarez.

 

this is bull****. I don't have a problem with a stay busy fight, I have a problem with Juarez getting all the good fights & coming in with lackluster performances. Dude is boring as hell to watch. He loses every big fight.

Juarez was a good fighter a few years ago i thought he would pick up a title but now his nothing if this fight happens its a joke

There you go then. Get him against Dib, John or Salido. There's 3 champs that aren't doing anything right now that deserve a fight more than Juarez. Or like I said, if it's really a case of no one else is available then move him up to SFW.
