He's a beast - but we need to see more fights.

I think he only has like 10 or 12 fights under his belt.

4 to 5 more fight and we'll really see what he's working with - but he's looking damn good so far.

I don't think that it will ever happen but Gamboa should be able to grab his first belt by the end of '08...I hope he will get his first title shot at 126...

Gamboa could beat Valero and John right now with only 9 pro fights under his belt; yes he's the future

Sometime, somewhere on the road Pacquiao-Gamboa HAS TO HAPPEN! But Gamboa, as Tom said, needs to start doing the big things at 126... he's an average sized FW, and fighting PacMan at LW would be a huge disadvantage...

And don't forget that a whole new generation is waiting for Gamboa at 126, the great Linares, #1 John, better and better Luevano and the very talented Guerrero. Now add Israel Vazquez to that, and then the SFWs: JMM, Guzman, Valero, talents are everywhere...

If he can keep up with the good work, he'll have a hell of a schedule before any chance of a PacMan fight probably no lower than LW...

I agree and I will bet that he knocks them both out before the 8th.

Boxing can always use fresh new stars but all these pressure and attention on an unproven fighter can only be a detriment!

I doubt he and Paquiao will ever meet in the ring, the timing will never be right!

I think Gamboa is a great talent, but we need to see him in real action with some real tests 1st

As has already been said, I can't see them ever fighting. Despite that, Gamboa's got all the necessaries to be great. His chin's untested, but I haven't seen any Khan-esque cracks in it yet so I'm confident he'll be fine. I think time may rob him and us of some of the great fights he could've made had he been born elsewhere.

Still a little bit early no? From what I seen, he has all the tools, but lets not get ahead of ourselves. We remember what happened with the highly touted Zab Judah.

Gamboa is a great talent and I'm excited about the kid but lets not start over shooting our load. He's the future but we are in the present

True very true gamboa is the next big thing he will raped everyone in the featherweight division in no time:D

Right now I think he's 9-0, I see him as a star just like how PBF and ODLH started out at the SFW division and then jumping divisions up to welterweight or even middleweight:deal

Pac, JMM might be gone from the game once he's already in the mix but theres always a lot of guys and talent he could compete with. Guzman, Linares, John, Guerrero, Vasquez. Man i cant wait that he takes this guys one by one but he's still green. But right now he could expose the **** out of valero and send that myth into retirement:yep

In other words, 126-130 div. still looks very promising even with the imminent departure of JMM and PAC!:good
