Its not that weak, linares and john are in the division and you got all those guys at 122 that can move up. 122-130 is a really strong area.

Yeah Tyson is probably #1, I can't believe I forgot Mike. Gamboa is def #2 though...his fight on FNF a while back was ridiculous. It was just such an epic mismatch.

Well thats about the only way what you wrote can be interpreted. You said he hasn't impressed you as a prospect......yet he has floored 8 of 9 guys, most of which in the first round or two by completely blowing them out. I doubt if a couple of them even landed any punches. What else is there to judge prospects by? Yeh the talent isn't really there in his fights, but comparing his first 9 pro fights to other guys first 9 im willing to bet money that its not worse by any means. And the manner in which he's blowing these guys out shows why he could beat beltholders TOMORROW, in his 10th fight. I just don't understand how Gamboa cannot excite you, if your really a boxing fan. He shows the ability to do damn near everything, with nothing really to harp on him for (yet of course). Please explain how he hasn't impressed you, cause that blows my mind

I believe you think that...but I'm telling you Valero would put Gamboa to sleep....not b/c he's a better technical boxer but b/c he has a **** load more experience, he's performed against High level oppostion, he's proven to be a legit champion and he has that unreal power.

Now...with all that said....I've seen Gamboa and he is a rare and very special talent, but he is still green. He has a **** load of potential but he'll get his ass handed to him if he thinks he can skip 10 levels and beat a champion like Valero.

I say give the kid anther 2 years.....by that time he should be right where he needs to be in matruity, experinence and skills to be able to beat the current title holder at that time.

Valero isn't that great of a champion, and Gamboa could easily blow him out tomorrow (and early at that). Valero has a shaky chin AT BEST. Mosquera almost ko'd him.....and he isn't that great of an opposition. I hope Gamboa faces Valero this year and that the bookies favor the champ; it will be easy money :yep . As far as the "experience" factor goes Gamboa has had 300-400 amatuer matches and also has a gold medal. I think he's just fine in the experience department. I don't get why people would like him to ko 5-10 more bums and then say "ok he's ready". The fact is that he's murdering opponents so its time to step up the competition now. It also helps that he is fighting almost every month
