This kid is racking up some impressive wins. He could get a title shot even quicker than Povetkin. Not a knock on Povetkin, I'm just saying.

Nice to see him fighting so often. If I had to make a guess, I would say he gets a title shot before his 20th fight, but he's not quite ready yet.

No, but in under 2 weeks, he destroyed a mid level journeyman with a winning record and a gate keeper level guy who had fought and competed in the top 25 area....

Really impressive. These cubans are quite the specimens and if the communist situation down there could ever get sorted into a more reasonable Democratic Socialist set up, we could have a whole new era of amazing fighters coming from that island.

I'm really impressed here, it's not like he fought a bum tonight, he fought and stopped a guy who had never been stopped and who had been in with top 30 opposition in his 7th fight.

I have no videos are pics, sorry.

But, De Jesus was ranked 11th by the WBA, Gamboa will be in the rankings soon.

Hell, let this Gamboa develop some more and he'll unlock that supernatural potential, then Linares and Chris John get smoked by a true to form supernatural.

Linares is normal. Chris John is overrated, Gamboa is on his way to becoming the best thing a fighter could ever be in terms of ability and eye pleasing value.

Gamboa must be hanging out with Cristian Mijares and Joan Guzman....:yep

As a boxing fan, I'm just very happy that we have guys like Povetkin, Gamboa and others from the amatuer stardom coming up and having the potential to accomplish much and give us great fights.

Guys like Fraudley make amatuer boxing look bad. Gamboa and others are more along the class of the great Felix Savon, Povetkin and to a lesser extent, Chagaev, have done well coming out of their Olympic stardom.

But Gamboa is really impressing me here, I didn't expect him to stop this guy.

Yes, only Kessler is better than Linares in most instances. I am not a Linares hater, but he's not as complete as Kessler.

Gamboa looks like he may be exactly what we need.

Guzman with KO power would be frightening, so far, that's what Gamboa looks to be similiar to, frightening.

I want Mijares to fight Castillo also, but in a way I don't, because potential ring deaths do nothing for the sport.:smoke

Amsterdam, how do you see Mijares-Montiel going? Would Montiel have much of a chance?

Yan Barthelemy won his fight by UD, hes sleeper believe me, he will soon be 20-0 when you guys start noticing him (he used to beat Gamboa for the gold medal in cuba 3 times)

He certainly has a chance, not because of his ability or skill level, but because Mijares' biggest flaw is the fact that he can be drawn out of his effectiveness and drawn into fighting someone's fight, he even did it a little vs. Arce(although still beat him horribly at Arce's game:lol: ).

I'd predict a competitive but clear win for Mijares, 116-112, leaving no controversy at all, even though the lower weight classes are full of bad decisions(notice Mijares' draw).

In truth however, if Mijares committed to his game plan with no machismo at all, he'd like shutout and stop Montiel late, let's only hope that Mijares continue's down the path that we'd all like, because the ability is there.

I'd like for his defence to improve, it's a little leaky.

Barthelemy shouldn't be that much of a sleeper, he could be just as talented as Gamboa.

Speaking of Gamboa, there are a few people I think he could challenge right now ranked high in the different organizations. One name that stands out to me is Roinet Cabellero. Cabellero is ranked in the top ten in three of the big four, including 1st in the WBA. de Jesus was ranked 11th in the WBA, so this fight makes some sense. Cabellero last beat De Jesus by a couple of points.
