Gamboa's speed, combination punching, and power would put another stoppage loss on Juanma's record. I have no doubts about that now.

 

Yes and no. Salido brings different elements like a chin and work rate.

I would put my money on Gamboa no doubt but could he take that early attack???? I think yes but with a few KDs. It would definitely be HAgler-Hearns all over.

 

Tonite Gamboa may have beaten Juanma.

He was not there mentally and was there for the taking by virtually anyone.

Salido is underrated

 

Last opponent a has been. Solis wasn't even that relevant when he was prime. Salido is a tough mexican, but not an especially skilled one. Hypejob Juanma wanted to trade instead of box and look what happened.

Before that Gamboa's been getting dropped left and right by bums. It will catch up once he steps up competition. Unfortunately there really aren't that many top talents in the featherweights to begin with, we'll see how he adjusts from 130+.

 

I curious what happened to Lopez since he got famous.

He's seemed to stagnate and just box the same way without ad******g anymore.

 

The thing is, Gamboa does have a good chin. He is susceptible to balance-based flash knockdowns, but always recovers 100% in no time flat.

Salido has the kind of chin where he can take clean punches, even off balance and not go down.

Recovery matters more than resistance. Gamboa's recovery is fantastic, and by that measure his chin is not all that much worse than Salido's.

Both have better chins than Lopez, IMO. Lopez has been hurt a lot more times than he's been down...and is always slow to recover (before tonight, he always did recover in the end...)

I really don't think Lopez has the power to keep Gamboa on the floor. Put him there? Unquestionably. But unless it goes the distance those knockdowns won't even be an issue.

Gamboa most likely gets off the canvas to stop Lopez around the middle rounds.

STFO, Gamboa is the #1 FW in the World today, out all four knockdowns only one was legit and he pummeled the other guy, he koed Salido in the 12th round and like I said in other threads, his inexperience prevent him from get it.

 

You never know. Styles make fights, and crazy things can happen in boxing, (as evidenced by tonight) I don't believe boxing has a transitive property (A beat B, B beat C, A would beat C) JML - Gamboa would have been a great fight however long it lasted.

The real losers though are the fans. This fight could have been made, but too much posturing prevented it.

Unlike biased fans like yourself (you're Cuban), I watch fighters evolve from prospects to champions, hypejobs to has beens. Tonight was especially true of the latter. Gamboa is on the waiting list as well .

Funny how the Cubans like yourself and Garfio are all riled up. Pacquiao haters none the less--a fighter that established himself dominantly over the last several years against ELITE level opponents. Meanwhile, you're riding the Gamboa hypetrain like gospel even though he hasn't come NEAR the level of accomplishment like Manny Pacquiao, a fighter you both regularly **** on, because Gamboa just happens to be Cuban like yourself.
