Gamboa has a leaky defense. THIS IS COMMON KNOWLEDGE. That's why he's suffering from Flash Knockdown syndrome. He's very fast, yet wild and open on the offense when he lets those fast hands go. Usually its enough to overwhelm lesser opponents. However, once he gets in the ring with someone with excellent handspeed, footwork, and decent power (he's safe in the 122-126lb division for now) that can exploit his vulnerabilities (and there's alot of them), he may just as well follow the Juanma/Lemiux/Berto recipe of being "exposed."

You don't get knocked down 5 times in just 12 fights and expect to reach elite level with those vulnerabilties . Oh yeah, he was definitely hurt against Ramirez (and not from a ****ing elbow you excuse-making Cuban).

And although I think Gamboa can beat Juanma right now, there's always the possibility of Juanma landing a quick, monstrous right on Gamboa to put him down and hurt him.
