I've been saying this for a while now.. I say he's the most overrated boxer on this forum as of right now..

i think ul find khan has 50 votes to win, gamboa has 49 votes to win(at time of posting)

people are seeing some sense now

 

He's very special but not yet ready. End of story...



(He is a VERY bright prospect moving up very fast and his last fight vs. Jimenez revealed as much flaws in his game as it's necessary to divide the audience and generate even more talk, because on one hand, you've got the Gamboa believers (I myself for example) who see all the positive things in his fights and the potiential he's not even showing yet, and on the other hand are the unbelievers, who see only the weaknesses and ready to jump on Gamboa. You gotta see everything, pro and contra, and the KD came just in time for Yuri to realize he's got work to do until he'll be ready for the world...

Changing his trainer to the respected Orlando Cuellar is just the right first step...)

 

look, dont take it so seriously. there are alot of very young posters here who have little experience with hypejobs or prospects in general.

i remember when i was a kid, i thought mark breland was the next sugar ray.
or that alex ramos was the real deal.

i just didnt have the experience to know that unless a guy really beats a top level guy who has a punch, he has nothing but athletic skills.

real boxing skills come out only under fire. sure you look like a million dollars beating second raters.

after a while you get the hang: only about 10 percent of all prospects make it to a certain level.
the rest get to do a eddie hopson.

His defense is poor, he's overconfident, he get's hit often, and most of all, he's still a prospect.. Yeah, he's got potential, but to say he already beats the likes of Pacquiao, Casamayor, and Guzman or to even say he was a better prospect than RJJ is absurd.. Give him a couple years before considering him a "god."

 

he is overrated and underrated at the same time.

He has more potential. Whether he becomes greater or not is obviously too early to say.

Yes. I was the one who said this and I'd be shocked if the current Casamayor lasted 6 rounds with him. This is the Casamayor who went through hell to beat Katsidis.

So, people saying he's a greater prospect than RJJ are being idiots, the rest of the comments are not dellusional at all.

 

China chin? No, but if he gets hit there often by the right fighter, he may not get up..

 

Im sorry, that sounds an awful lot like a prediction rather than fact.
Perhaps you should check the polls aswell. It's 50/50

Honestly, you are the epitome of what the thread starter had in mind -- this overrating is getting utterly ridiculous. Gamboa is a brilliant prospect, but you're blowing this way out of proportion.

 

I think online boxing forums have warped some peoples minds.

some peoples opinions i listen to and respect and others i ignore.

I judge a fighter myself i couldnt give a **** if a fighter is hyped or not

 

It's funny how overrated and underrated he is...but then again, that's what happens to prospects.

He's the best prospect in boxing...I think that's about as much of a common ground as we get.
