after seeing his last fight, i don't know if gamboa has power that would fare against the elite. He was swarming jimenez a lot of times even when jimenez guard was up which i think was not wise, i prefer he should be economical with his punches.

He sometimes gets excited at times with the flurries and i saw him get hit at times. Especially in the 6 round(i think) when he was leaning sidewards and got hit with a right straight although it didn't hurt him but still thats a point to ponder.

anyway i'm also a gamboa fan and nuthugger and i think his team's move of getting a new trainer would do well for him.

I think he will be a kill or be killed fighter as he moves up the ladder.

Ridiculously overhyped - I don't see him winning a major belt, or entering P4P territory.

Gamboa gains power from his speed and accuracy (when he cares timing and placing his punches right not just throwing). Pretty much like Roy Jones. So his one-punch power is not very big, but if you don't see them coming, you pretty much end like Jones's foes...

I think the punch output was great in the Jimenez fight, but changing the strategy during a fight to counter-punching mode, selecting and placing the power shots carefully and well-placed would've been a good idea. But Jimenez took some great punches without a problem and Gamboa didn't really care selecting a few cracking instead of throwing a lot with less accuracy and weight behind it...

Gamboa has murderous pop in his fists for such a little guy. He is no superman, but there are not a lot of earthlings who can compete with him.
He has been matched incredibly toughly up to now and he has nailed his true colours to the mast by passing all these tests quite successfully.
He is a great fighter, and I am glad that I ve seen two of his fights live and had the opportunity to shake his hand and congratulate him on his fantastic pro debut.

I also think that a new coach will do well for him. I guess that he will be German based. Dificult to find a spanish speaking coach there.I have no idea whether he has learnt sufficient German to master a simple conversation in German and follow a coach's instructions in that language or not. As far as I know he doesnt have any command of the English language.
His promoter Oener will probably be looking for a good Spanish coach in Spain.

I disagree with you here, my good friend..

I think Roy Jones Jr, especially at 160 and 168 was definitely a big big puncher, capable of turning out your lights with one to two shots.

Gamboa is not that sort of puncher, which isn't to say he's a feather fisted fighter but I think P4P, Roy Jones Jr at 160 had some of the most powerful punches at that weight, very under-rated when it comes to single punch power because his combinations were so good too.
