Bollocks! If your gonna stack the majority of UK talent and not use them well, expect stick from fans
Watch the other cards then. Constantly hear his stables no good anyway. His fights are no good. Surely if hearns just a con man...with a poor talent pool and bad fights his products not worth watching. I really dont get it...surely you must be enjoying it to an extent if your watching it.
Can honestley say since lockdown ended i have barley watched a Matchroom card. Even when i have it's just maybe 1 or 2 fights and never felt the need to catch up on anything. Matchroom are the biggest Boxing promotion in this country with alot of backing, so they will come under more scrutiny.
Noticed Hearn has started being very patronising towards other promoters... 'it's good Sky are staying in boxing, it's a completely different level to us but it's good for boxing' fck off you bellend your cards are absolutely shyte.
I don't know how he say things like that with a straight face. He is serving up shite of an epic proportion. I'm not even tempted to get DAZN and I've bought plenty of PPVs in the past, it's just not good value in any possible way.
In the same interview he mentioned Matchroom being the best promotional company in the world (lol) and that he'd be needed for the Fury v Whyte fight as he 'can provide leverage with DAZN'. 1) Fury clearly doesn't need DAZN or Hearn and 2) he doesn't even have a PPV platform yet.
Is it that bad tho. I dont know what people are expecting. Lets say the whyte fight went ahead. You,d be getting whyte v wallin and chisora v parker in november and december add to that kid galahad fight...andrade fight...plus fowler v smith the other week. Another 4 cards or that on top of that for your 7.99. Not been a terrific start but lets say you paid 20 quid for each of whyte v wallin and parker v chisora thats 40 quid. You,d now get that for 14. Plus the rest of the cards. Fair enough if its not for you...but the hyperbole of how bad it is is over the top. People would be silly to think they we,re getting usyk v joshua...fury v wilder and every big fight for 7.99 a month. Just cant be done...maybe hearns actually just telling the truth. I know that because absolutely no one is putting them fights on for 7.99. Pretty much demanding something thats not possible then blaming the man continually for not making it possible.
How about some good even match ups on the undercards? Lets be honest, nobody is or was calling for Whyte vs Wallin Nobody cares for Parker vs Chisora Nobody did initially and thats not changed Andrade at 4am, sure thats value for money He is pretty boring also and nobody cares for him even in the US And Kiko vs Galahad??? Really? Kiko only getting that shot as a thanks for not moaning to much about being robbed against Barrett Similar to how Ryder was compensated after his title shot against Smith And yes, watch other promotions etc, im sure you'll say that but Hearn does have the best stable in the UK Its being utalised poorly, well to viewers anyhow If you talk yourself up as the best, be prepared to be held accountable as such Boxing fans shouldn't be dictated to, they should be catered for like in other sports And as for such big fights not being able to be made, then dont advertise your platform as PPV free and tell the world how DAZN's improved budget will make it possible
Exactly this. Hearn has been lying to us day in day out for years, so much so that many people now believe that ppv fights are acceptable for dross. The quality of boxing has gone down, not up, at more cost to us. Now he's charging 8 quid a month extra, for no better content than we had 6 months ago, will probably introduce ppv on 'THE ZONE', all the while shafting customers and laughing his way to his daddy's mansion.
I think the truth is that with three or four promotional companies, fighters drifting into mma or bare-knuckle events and other distractions in the modern world. There is also less people willing to be journeymen to fill up cards, to take beatings every week and be the 10 and 28 guy on a record. those lads will be harder to find for prospects. I agree on the point to many fighters here think being a world-beater is the be-all and end-all. Danny Williams,Sprott,Skelton,Francis gave us decent fights, they were realistic about their abilities. Promoters never pretended they'd be world champions, that's the problem now every prospect is a world-level fighter according to promoters here, this crap needs to stop. I felt for Lewis Ritson and cheese men etc in that way overmatched to early as examples of this. There just isn't enough depth in terms of fighters. But we are not the only country with that issue, at the Olympics the standard was poor one of the worst I have seen in donkey's years outside the Cubans. Boxing has some serious issues to come in the next decade filling cards up.
A question for you all (because I can't be arsed checking). Since Fowler v Fitz in March 2019, how many genuine exciting 50/50 fights have we had in the UK? Cheese v Eggington was one. Cheese v Fitz makes it 2. Beyond these, I am struggling although as people post, my crappy memory will be refreshed. Saying that though, I'll be amazed if we hit double figures.
