    Round 5

Belfort is destroying Souza whenever they are at mid-range or further, but Souza keeps tilting inside and pressing in close, sapping Belfort's strength with arm-snares or behind-the-neck tug-downs, and firing off uppercuts before Belfort can get off or shake free. Souza's work in the clinch decent but paling in comparison to what Belfort is landing when they separate, both quantity and quality.

    10-9 Belfort

    50-43 Belfort

    Round 6

Belfort is getting backed into the ropes as Souza makes a desperate bid, throwing some bombs with both hands, finally the one coming forward. Belfort was playing possum, though, as he blasts Souza from the ropes after leaning into them for buoyancy with a pair of big shots. Souza's nose leaking plasma once more, Belfort hammering him with straight flurries and big right hooks or straight lefts, hurting him badly. Souza ties up and scrapes at the belly with whichever hand is free. Souza unclasps a hug he initiated and smacks Belfort with a short, soft left hook on the jaw. Souza has nothing left but manages to hang on - literally - until the final bell.

    10-9 Belfort

    60-52 Belfort

So let me get this straight, according to judge Hecko's scorecard this would have been a draw if you subtract the knockdowns?

    Yeahhhh...idk about that one, chief!

This is RJJ's first officially sanctioned pro boxing match in over five years (UD10 over Scott Sigmon in 2018, notwithstanding his exhibition with Mike Tyson early in the pandemic after the lockdown was lifted)

    Round 1

Pettis is jabbing high, getting caught on the goalposts of Jones. Quick leaping hook by Jones, partially blocked. Pettis tries a flurry downstairs as Jones is skating the ropes but barely grazes him. Jones blocking shots on his forearms if aimed for his head, and lowering elbows to catch body blows. Jones with quick lowered-drawbridge rights coming down from his brow, aiming for Pettis' chest. Neither man has landed much of anything clean. Pettis gets in a jab under Jones' elbows and then shoeshines into his wrists. Whipping right up top by Pettis, blocked.

10-9 Jones, extremely close, covered up and put on a defensive clinic disallowing Pettis anything getting through, but barely threw anything himself. Ineffective aggression "forcing the fight" junkies will give that round to Pettis, no doubt.
