    Round 6

Pettis is advancing but timidly and haphazardly. Jones taking advantage with pot shot lead or pull-counter rights and ambush combos off the ropes. Pettis is splaying his legs wide and creeping in, pawing several high jab feints into the guard, and then slicing at the body or firing a high shot-put haymaker at the head and falling short or getting picked off. Jones nailing him with heavy counter rights - straights & uppercuts, navigating the ropes comfortably.

    10-9 Jones

    59-55 Jones

    Round 7

Pettis is getting walked down and shying away, crouching and then springing up with some defensive jabs in multiples, all blocked. Jones is marching in with lead rights. Pettis still going for body shots, but aside from the odd quick poke jab can't get through as Jones is too quick to simply drop his elbows a few inches. Pettis tries an overhand right but misses. He goes for it again when Jones comes in throwing a combo and Jones is caught, and blinks while turning his head. Not hurt, though. Jones still coming forward. Blood from Pettis' nostril. Jones getting into a groove now, jabbing off the front hip. Pettis skittish, moving out of range. Clinch by Pettis. Pose-off in the final moments, then they close ranks and start slugging just at the bell. Both take heavy body hooks and Jones eats a right hand on the jaw.

    10-9 Jones

    69-64 Jones

    Round 8

Jones slipping and countering. Pettis is making his final stand, throwing very sodden-looking arm punches, stabbing up at Jones with both hands. Jones walking-the-dog, leaning back, casually stepping outside, not even bothering with the high guard. Jones picking his spots with the plunging right hand. Pettis slashes at the body. Jones misses a right.

    10-9 Jones

    79-73 Jones

Roy finished nicely. 6-2 for me. I get a bad feeling they might give this to Pettis or call it a draw.
