Funnily enough, as I'm rewatching that film Gans' crawling around on the mat and reaction immediately following the fight wasn't terribly different than Ortiz against Mayweather. Neither man seemed particularly bothered by getting "knocked out", which is strange to me. I always figured a guy who was knocked out legit would always look at least a little dejected after the matter.

This " some one," is the same guy,[Mendoza,] who states the Gans ko is legit, I understand why he wants to spin the Johnson knockdown as a real kd and state that Johnson was dazed and in trouble, its agenda driven crap, and to promote it demeans Johnson, which is the sole point of the exercise.
It's interesting that Johnson manhandled Ketchel , picking him up and setting him on his feet whenever he looked like going down.
It's interesting that Johnson 's handspeed was faster than Ketchel's and ,that he could land his punches with impunity.
It's interesting that Johnson ,a dear friend of Ketchel's ,said he was amazed how easy Ketchel was to hit.
It's further interesting that Ketchel ,a month after being used as a doll by Johnson stopped Jack O Brien in three rounds, the same O Brien, Mendoza states outboxed Johnson.
If Mendoza , after viewing the footage , truly believes Ketchel had Johnson hurt and dazed and, that Jack was not wearing the cuffs that day, I submit further debate with him is futile.

I suspect that the knockdown was genuine.

Ketchel's punch probably hit Johnson's ear, or the base of the ear.

I find it a little strange that this fight is consistently seen as a weapon against Johnson by his critics.

Middleweight or not, how many heavyweights could have disposed of Ketchell in such a brutal and sudden manner?

Only 9 lbs between a feather and a lightweight? Thats about the equivalent of 30lbs between heavyweights, imo.
Gans went 20 rds with an aggressive, shorter fighter giving him 3lbs, the result was a draw, the fighter was Joe Walcott.

    Walcott would have killed McGovern.
Gans went 15rds with another aggressive short fighter Sam Langford , he was giving Langford 5lbs.These results make the McGovern result even more farcical.

Gans had 196 fights and ,was stopped 5 times, twice by Nelson when he was wore down ,and suffering with T B, once by Frank Erne when he had his forehead cut open by a butt and retired, once by McFadden, and that fake against McGovern.

All of Johnson's fights were fixed, except the ones he lost , happy?
I don't believe Johnson, I believe the evidence of my own eyes.

    I was not there?
Neither were you,my point is moot, yes it is, or rather it is a moot point.

Moot means debatable, and your alleging that O Brien outboxed Johnson is just that .
As many of the writers thought O Brien deserved a draw , the same amount thought Johnson won clearly.

Further more the only news reporter we know for a fact was there ,was the writer for the Philadelphia Inquirer [the fight was in Philadelphia ,O Brien's home town,] and he scored the fight for Johnson.

Oh no! Not more privileged footage that only you possess.

How about you post it? Along with the Ryan/ Jeffries footage you have seen?
Oh I forgot, you never got around to answering my question on that subject did you?
Although I asked it several times.
Perhaps you will clear it up now?
Have you ,or have you not, seen Tommy Ryan sparring on film with James Jeffries?

A simple yes or no will suffice.

    Kethcel,Kethecl,Ketchel ,which is it?
