He lost a decision in his hometown against a Spaniard bum named Gabriel Campillo. Ten years ago Argentinians where know for being very hard tough guys with titanium chins, and you need to outbox em really hard to beat them. Remember the war of Castro and jackson, but the quality of those fighter had been dismissed very hard, they are now quitters, chinna chinned bums, lacks of punch and even the heart that in the past had. what happend to that country in terms of boxing. discuss By the way that Garay loss make the all time great Erdey even more of a joke. http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=143840&cat=boxer Campillo record
Also, he was training for a righty (Gogiya), and a southpaw stepped in at the last minute. That said, I don't know if I'd call Campillo a bum. He looked pretty decent in the fight to me (which is up on Youtube, if you're interested). Kind of tricky, used his reach advantage well, seems like someone who could give a lot of fighters problems, and he looked humongous at 175. It may be that he's just better at that weight rather than needing to drain down to 168. Also, I've heard that his loss to Murat was disputed.
I expect this guy to be a one hit wonder like Maussa. So i expect to lose his next title defense. Maybe he can win if he can fight Castillejo.
It looked like they both were just "local" fighters, hardly ever fought outside Argentina or Spain, Campillo just had 2 losses so how could you call him a bum?? he lost to 2 guys who are still undefeated to me, most of yall just overlooked Campillo
We shall see. I'm guessing Garay had a rematch clause since he was a late-replacement optional, but I can't confirm that. Jurgen Braehmer is the #1 contender, so that would be a decent test.
Could you please explain in detail what part of Campillo's game, style, disadvantages and technical errors make him a 'bum', or 'Spaniard bum' in your book?
Aww, I was just about to ask him to choose which one is Campillo on this picture. atsch This content is protected
