We all knew this fight was next the moment Bert stopped Vic.. Why all the hate towards Swift? Because the Pac fight?
Danny Garcia and his dad are a joke. I predicted they would fight Berto months ago. They have no interest in trying to unify the division. Turned down Brook also. Ultimate cherry picker
Kinda proves 2 points... First off have great managment is a must. #2. Always put on a good fight win/lose.
if lil d was 34 and sitting near the top of p4p lists id hold him to higher standards.....but he is neither of those things....valiant effort though don't forget the motto of #1 ggg apologist Loudon..."Circumstances"....all Garcia has to say is "well were were negotiating with keith Thurman but it kinda fell through and al haymon was like 'hows about andre berto' and we were cool with that"
Garcia and his team know his level. No sense pretending he's some P4P elite guy and holding him to that standard when that's just not what he is. The same gripes were there before the Ghost fight, and it's not like that fight proved to be the mismatch people were whining about. This will be an entertaining fight!
danny basically exposes everything wrong with internet boxing fans the guy took a dangerous fight on a major ppv card....one he wasn't supposed to win he won and broke a lot of hearts....and the excuses for lucas loss came out....and now they still continue danny did what a fighter was supposed to...take a big/dangerous fight on a big card and win...and now hes sitting back and reaping some of the rewards of that....he still has plenty of time to make big/tough fights going forward but people are still upset he won that lucas fight and they wont let it go
He deserves full props for the Lucas fight. I've given him grief before for the matchmaking since then (not his fault they robbed Mauricio in that fight), but as I sit back and look at it, I'd mistakenly forgotten the damage he took in getting that win. It was a Pyrrhic victory, and since then, the whole gameplan has been for him to cash out without risking fighting another career-altering puncher without the payday to justify it. I can't really fault him for it. He's got a life to live post-boxing.
I think they lost confidence in Danny after his performances against Herrera and Peterson but, they keep putting him in against boxers. Not that Berto is slick but he's probably juuuust slick enough to make Danny look mediocre. Berto isn't a horrible choice but it's bad considering his recent opposition. Herrera, Peterson, Malinaggi, Guerrero, Berto aren't bad choices, just bad if you fight them all consecutively I hope he gets his career back on track soon.
he has time to make some good money, without fighting the best of the best type comp, and still come back and do that down the road
