Agreed. I like Garcia. And he does have a chance. The guy does seem to find a way to win, but I don't know about this time. I don't see Garcia fighting on the back foot and being able to keep Matthysse off of him, nor do I see him getting on his bike. That means he fights. I think Matthysse's shorter, more powerful punches will be the difference.

This is a bad analysis, but I agree with the end result. Lucas by KO.

Lucas will want to bang. Garcia's left hook is legit. Matthysse is no Judah when it comes to speed or movement based defense. Both men will get hit. Who's chin and power is better? You have to lean Matthysse.

What Boxing skills? When not so hot a Boxer Peterson was moving Matthysse was looking like a crude wild man. Matthysse does have quality defense for his style of fighting IF he feels the guy is fast, which won't happen with Garcia since Garcia is a power puncher. Garcia will trade, or worse... he will start backing up and not be able to attack. Another feather in Matthysse's cap.

The fact is that Garcia has faded in fights. Matthysse, so far, hasn't. If anything Lucas gets stronger and fatigue in his opponent increases his connect rate. This is all bad for Garcia.

The only X factor in this fight I see is Garcia's ability to get Lucas' respect with power and/or crack his chin. I think Garcia's hook at its best can do it, but I just can't see it landing before Matthysse's power and pressure puts him out of position.

 

danny garcias hands are so slow its crazy when you watch him. you even see him setting up the shot he'd be so easy to beat for most boxers lol. Matthyse will beat garcia because he's got more to his game than power thats why people are particularly excited by him. He beat both juadah and alexander and we all know it.

Danny can't fight going backwards which matthyse will force him to do.. depending on how good dannys chin is i'v got it as a 3-6 ko matthyse
