Garcia is a disgrace for taking this fight.

    Haymon puppet.

Herrera fight merits an instant rematch, it was a controversial decision that most scored for Herrera. The Matthysse fight also merited a rematch, but some of you knowledge lacking boxing fans think that was also without controversy even though it was competitive and included ref help and an eye injury that assisted Garcia with the victory.

Yes, he gets credit for taking on the no 2 in the division and winning.

But taking 1 hard fight doesn't give you a free pass for the rest of your career.

Herrera was a soft touch, the guy honestly is not a top fighter, he just is a bad style for Garcia. A cherry pick gone wrong, much like Floyd and Maidana.

Yet boxing fans are so used to bad fights and cowardice now that they are excusing this Salka fight as "Danny already fought everybody, so he deserves an easy fight", when he's coming directly off of a gift decision that should have been an immediate rematch.

Worse yet, this card features Lamont PEDerson, who still holds the belt even though Matthysse trashed him in 3 because Daddy Haymon had the fight happen at 141 to further exploit the situation. Peterson is a soft touch opponent as well, but they are featured on the same card fighting unranked nobodies and Garcia is the lineal champion.

Lineal champion fighting no 77 ranked. Not a fringer raked like 15, like Herrera was... no 77 ranked feather fisted nobody.

    Wow.

And some people are defending this. Garcia fans tend to be clueless, such as how they repeat that Garcia schooled Matthysse when that fight had ref shenanigans and an injury, yet the cards were decided by a close and clear 2 point margin.

Boycott this fight and support the Canelo/Lara fight, an actual competitive fight between the no 1 and no 2 to establish new lineage.

Garcia is a punk ***** and a Haymon puppet. Disgraceful lineal champ.

Worst bit as well - Garcia was quoted saying "The opponent doesn't matter, only the event".

    That's Al Haymon talk.

Someone get this piece of filth out of boxing. Worst guy for boxing ever this Al Haymon is.

Soon to be taken out in court.

I totally agree about those 2 fights... they should have been rematches... but Danny is a decent champion. He has some good wins on his resume. This fight however is inexcusable. Top fighters should not get a soft touch fight...thats the agreement you make when you become #1, not become #1 and fight any stiff you want.

How do you figure Salka is ranked 77th?

Soft touch is one thing. Peterson would be a soft touch fight with a belt while expecting a rematch of his controversial fights, which Herrera is way more controversial than Matthysse because a lot of people scored 8 or 9 rounds for Herrera. It was clear that Herrera was the victory, cleanly outboxing.

    Those instances need rematches.

Soft touch is not no 77 if you're #1, that's inexcusable like you said.

And stating "the opponent doesn't matter, the event does" is even more inexcusable.

"Soft touch". More like "a lion vs a kitten". Absurd.

That's where he was ranked for Danny's WBC belt.

And here's a Mayweather fan in to defend Garcia doing a ridiculous cherry pick right after getting a blatant gift decision.

    Go figure.

Garcia has been in a lot of hard fights lately hell most people thought he lost his last fight. So think of it as a confidence builder. I just don't get all the hate. The guy fights the best and will get back to it after this soft touch.

Worst part about this fight besides it being a tune-up is...
Should team Garcia move up to welterweight after this fight will prob end up taking another soft touch @147...

Why not just move up & spare us this set-up Vs. Salka

Que another fan of boxing's greatest cherry picker defending Garcia's ridiculous cherry pick.

Lineal champs, the #1s, shouldn't need confidence builders against bums. That's for prospects.

No one is defending Garcia. However, where do you get that Salka is ranked 77th?
