no way in hell garcia is going get into a shootout with matthysse. this fight is going to go 12 and it could turn into a borefest.
if he does that, he's doomed. Lucas has shown he can take a shot better, I don't think ive seen him hurt ever before, while I have seen Danny busted up and hurt a few times.
this by no means will be an easy fight for either fighter....going to be tough for both. I have seen them both take some pretty tough shots and keep coming. I think Garcia is being a bit underrated here and has a better shot than most are giving him. I have Garcia winning this in rounds 7 to 9.
Clearly there where reasons behind Lucas's inability to become hyper aggressive during his fight vs zab loss of focus? Frustration with the quick handed counter puncher? Trouble timing zabs feints etc etc again I'm still struggling to pick a winner but until I see improved versatility in Lucas I canny bank on him running away with this one. History tells us Lucas will be the aggressor and if Danny's team is even half way knowledgable they will sit back and take advantage if the countering opportunities, possibly even mix in some tight forward moving attacks that may force Lucas in the Blackfoot where he's noticeable less effective. Getting into a slugging match would only favor the Argentinian and in my opinion this is the only scenario in with Lucas will hold a measurable advantage.
Garcia does have a chance. I bet those guys that Lucas knocked out, he'd do the same to them. A lot of people aren't giving Danny the credit but he does stand a chance. I think Lucas will beat him, but Danny doesn't deserve to get the amount of hate that he's been getting.
Was nothing to do with Zab, Matthysse literally came in trying to outbox and counter punch Zab, you see in the 9th when he finally came forward against Zab he walked right through him, now he does that from the beginning he would destroy Zab now This is the same feeling I had when people were picking Peterson to beat Matthysse, its actually terrible how some people dont know **** Im not even saying this because im a fan of Matthysse its because I watch him and watch what he does, Garcia is way too open but his chin is legit so it might not be early This will not be a close fight, everyone who picked Garcia should slap themselves after
I can see Danny KO'ing Lucas or UD'ing him, while I can only see Lucas KO'ing Danny at just a bit better odds than Danny doing it to him. You could go back and forth with the disadavantages/advantages factors all day, in the end I like Danny's added depth of workrate to win him rounds in which Lucas fails to KD or KO him. Danny simply has a more diversified portfolio in my opinion, I would never bet on a fighter whose only goal is to KO when they're similarily skilled. Every round that passes after the fourth Danny's chances increase I think, many may not like Danny but, I think their crossing their fingers more than anything if they think he gets taken out early, we've seen he's very disciplined early, and the chances he took late have all been spot on so far.
I dont see it but who knows....? It should be a corker whoever wins. Dont think it will go the distance..... But then Alexander and Judah both lasted the distance with Lucas so perhaps his competition has made him look better than he is...? Food for thought anyway. For the record i think Matthysse wins:good
I respect that though I need something more tangible to work with when trying to understand why your so committed to Lucas and his ability to win this in lopsided fashion. I'm also a bit disappointed at the fact that you label all those siding with Danny as beneath you regarding the subject of boxing. Well lets get back to breaking down the fight and I'll start by responding to your thoughts on Luca's approach during the Zab bout. While I do agree Lucas finally started to get his flow late in the fight this was more to do with Zab's inability to maintain his game and less to do with Lucas's ability to make the proper adjustments.....he believes in his power, sometimes he believes to much and in the Zab fight he continued to believe and his focus in commendable but that stubborn approach also lost him a bunch of rounds thus the outcome.
Its everything, Garcia's wide punches, he throws one punch at a time sometimes, Lucas doesnt stop punching etc People automatically look at Matthysse and think he's just a brawler if you watch him carefully you can see he does tricks, i knew he'd catch Peterson with the left hook from the start because when he throws it he leaps into it Peterson couldnt dodge it Dunno wtf you said but yeah Matthysse knew it was close so stepped it up and got aggressive and hasnt changed since
