Absolutely insane. He's one of the least deserving "champs" ever.

The fight's fine....just drop the friggin' belts for people who actually want to make 140 and can win fights there.

Garcia's holding on to it like Linus with a blanket. Move up to 147 already. Boxing doesn't need a division between 140 and 147. Peterson is like one of those old time guys who had a losing record while "champion" but somehow held on to his belt anyways. I'd call him Lamont Ottkeson but even Sven had some legit wins and defenses in there.

They should both vacate the belts and let Mauricio Herrera fight the number 1 guy at 140lb for one of the vacate belts.

    :good

Peterson should fight a light welterweight challenger for his belts, or Garcia at straight-up welterweight (that way, built-in excuse to not have it affect his LWW stock if he loses)

Garcia just needs to give that belt to Matthysse or HERRERA now

who cares. Both are on the downside of their respective careers. They keeping their belts to remain relevant in the event of a loss. It is cowardly, but makes business sense I suppose.

T5he fights just as good a fight as it was when people thought it had a belt.

Its 2015 and belts mean less and less. The fighter makes the belt, not the other way around.

Pacquiao-Hatton was for some micky mouse belt, but everyone still knew it was to see who the best at 140 or not.

If Wlad dumped all his belts in the trash tomorrow, you think people would stop seeing him as the #1 in the division?

Garcia-Peterson is still a solid fight
