    Straight from the horse's mouth.

If Haney wants a rematch, he's gonna have to move up.

I don't think Garcia matches up well against the likes Ennis or Stanionis. He gets beat by both.

Hmmmmm...I'm not sure Garcia is going to fair well against rehydrating welterweights.

147 is devoid of talent right now. Ennis is the only name there.

He did fine against a rehydrated super middleweight last night.

These two weighed in nearly 40 hours before the fight. (Early a.m. on Friday for a fight that took place at nearly midnight on Saturday.)

The days of guys weighing in the afternoon of the fight and entering the ring within the weight class they're supposed to be competing for a title ended 35 years ago.

They're all middleweights or (in Haney's case) super middleweights who dry out and put it right back on.

That's why they jump from one division to another. They aren't moving up. They just aren't drying out as much for what are now pointless weigh-ins.

None of them are between 136-140 when the bell rings, as was the case for most of the last century.

Draining yourself for a weigh-in when everyone has the better part of two days to get huge for the fight is pointless.

I'm glad Haney was beaten up by guy who didn't even bother to play the game.

Super middleweights shouldn't be holding 135- and 140-pound belts.

Guys on here still doubt Garcia but out of the new crop he was the first to show that he had guts.
Loss to Davis, went through the steps of acceptance, and came back to beat Haney. I'm glad these guys are mixing it up and taking losses. All that Mayweather propaganda about "0's" made boxing sour for a while.
Haney can make a comeback too and rematch but hopefully without Bill as his trainer. Bill Haney DKSAB at the championship level.

I agree with you completely about the ridiculous situation with weight classes and people rehydrating to absurd levels.

It's time these fighters weighed in 3 hours before the fight and everyone was at their healthy, natural fighting weight with no cutting (which I believe effectively amounts to cheating in a lot of cases).

My only question is, was Haney really that big on fight night?

I know he obviously bulked up considerably, but 28 pounds over the 140 limit?
I am genuinely surprised we haven't seen someone badly hurt because of this kind of weight bullying.

It's even more remarkable when you look at someone like Loma taking on a fighter like Haney and holding his own despite the size advantage Devin had.
