Boxing is doing really well in the UK right now. However it has died in its home, the USA. However I fully believe that Garcia Vs Davis will heal the sport massively. The two are huge celebrities, both in their primes, both undefeated, both young. It will be the biggest mega bout since Mayweather Vs Pacquaio. That’s right, even bigger than Fury Vs Wilder. I’m telling you this will be massive and I just cannot wait to see this happen.

I think it’s a good start. 135 is so loaded with talent, if them guys just all went at it then that would be huge for the sport.

    Won’t happen though.

You've had too much internet already this year. Come back in 2024.

    Bigger in what sense?

If financially, do you think it will gross more than Mayweather vs McGregor? Or even Canelo vs GGG?

If bigger in terms of the regard the industry holds the 2 boxers in, do you think they are generally higher on p4p lists than Kovalev and Ward, or GGG and Canelo (1), were when they fought?

Boxing isn’t doing “really well” in the UK. It’s probably the worst it has been for 6-7 years. Meanwhile, Davis Garcia is a good fight but it isn’t as great as people are trying to make out. If the guys at 135 all start fighting each other after that fight then cool, but it’s unlikely.

Has there been an announcement that Davis Garcia will be taking place next ?

Call me skeptical, but I'm thinking the "talk" of this fight is only for clout, views, site traffic, social media etc. The fact PBC and Showtime are going to come together with ODLH and DAZN while both risking their cash cows is.....rather unbelievable

I agree. Will it be a joint PPV between DAZN and Showtime for example ? I think Garcia will fight in April against someone else and the fight won’t happen, but I hope I’m wrong.

Yep, both sides will point the finger at each other while silently giving a much different finger to the fans

Bro Tyson Fury packed out a 63,000 seat stadium in the middle of winter while half his fans were in Qatar for the World Cup. I’d say it’s doing pretty well here.

    What a joke fight..

the figh was stopped cause Garcia Quit. Absolutely despicable.

Manny should challenge Tank Davis at 160..

    In real life.

Have you seen how empty the rest of the shows have been ? For example Whyte only did about 6000 at the O2. Okolie and Buatsi didn’t do more than 5000 at the O2. There are some very talented fighters and perhaps more talented than in previous years like Sunny Edwards and Josh Taylor, but I don’t see any big names with big support coming through. Take Fury and Joshua away and the UK scene is very average right now in terms of fighters who sell tickets and draw eyes to the TV screens.

Fury is the only one keeping boxing alive here in the UK. There's virtually zero interest from UK casuals in any boxing show that doesn't include Tyson Fury

What boxing needs are stacked cards and guys willing to actually fight one another. Definitely if they're only going to fight once a year. Not everyone is going to be the next Floyd Mayweather.

That’s because Whyte, Okolie and Buatsi were all fighting minos that nobody had heard of. If they fought decent opposition then they would sell out. Plus like I said there’s a cost of living crisis and half of the usual boxing fans were in Qatar for the Whyte fight so that’s why it didn’t do well.
