Nonsense. I have loads of boxing friends who all love watching fights that have nothing to do with Fury.

So Okolie v Cieslak headliner pulled in about 6k to the O2 arena, if he was fighting Breidis instead in the headliner I would wager money that not more than 10k would be in attendance, it is a much bigger fight for hardcore fans but not for casual fans and that is down to the popularity of Okolie not the opponent.

Bredis isn’t a big name either. He’s good but he’s not a big name. If someone like Usyk stepped back down or Bivol stepped up to fight him I guarantee they would sell out and it would do over 100k ppv buys. (Don’t tell me that’s thanks to Bivol because Bivol fought on a Katie Taylor undercard two years ago and he wasn’t even the co feature bout. He was 3rd!)

Breidis is the biggest name currently in the cruiserweight division, so what you are saying is Okolie, when he moves up will be able to sell out the O2 as the A side? Nah I highly doubt that unless his fighting/hugging style changes. And also you have picked 2 fighters to try and make your point where Okolie is not the A side the only ones he sells out the O2 Vs as the 'A side' are Riakporhe and Chisora. That's if he is even the A side v Chisora.

Idk even know why we’re arguing about Okolie tbh. Just cause Okolie isn’t the most popular fighter doesn’t mean boxing is dead in the UK. This week we have Eubank Jr Vs Liam Smith which will do well and then the week after we have Beterbiev Vs Yarde. That will be huge!

Haha, you said Okolie and someone else were fighting minnows, if they were fighting big names they would sell out. I disagree....... Eubank v Smith is surely a bigger fight than Beterbeast V Yarde. Boxing is very good in the UK, 3 top promoters and some very good talent.

Eubank may be a bigger fight for casuals but Yarde is definitely a better fight as it’s for the unified LHW championship. Whilst Eubank and Smith is for nothing but money.

Closer fight will be the Eubank - Smith fight. Beterbiev should run through Yarde before the undisputed fight.

The obsession with Luke is like Titanic grossing the biggest box office or Crazy Frog being number 1 in the charts for months. Basically, people are scum.

Britain is the home of boxing where the sport was created. Brazil is the home of MMA, Japan is the grand parent and large Japanese migration to Brazil is why Vale Tudo took off there.

Anyway the USA is not the home of boxing.

It’s where boxing became main stream. Britian only had about one good fighter per division and some times not even that when the sport first turned professional.

Ward Kovalev was the highest level bout of recent memory. Even considerably higher than Pacquiao Mayweather which was a fight between two has beens.
