Garcia vs Mattyse scorecards

    There hasn't been much talk about the judging, scorecards or tactics of this fight. It was definitely over shadowed by the Mayweather masterpiece. However the fight was so close and was even reflected in two of the scorecards by the judges. I'm not sure why the fight hasn't been discussed much or by fans just automatically ruled it a Garcia victory. I expected more debate, but I'm sure all of the Matthsye bandwagoners fell off. He isn't awesome, so what, but he is still pretty darn good and worth more watches. I think him and Garcia are still top 2 fighters and the victories can go either way if they were to fight 10/10 times.

    I thought it was a great tactical fight and Matthsye hasn't really been given his due for a lot of the effective punching he did in the early rounds. Without the swollen eye I think he would have taken more of the middle rounds. I would have scored the 11th round even ideally, but realistically most judges will score 10-8. Matthyse really got in Garcia's business that round. Garcia proved to be rather crafty, especially for setting up the knockdown between the ropes, veteran move that clearly was set up by getting Matthsye off balance and tangled up.

    Anyhow great fight hope to see a rematch.

    I feel the same way as you about it.
    Surprised not more discussion. Surprised not more credit given to Matthyse too.
    One 'lucky'jab closed his eye.....without that happening he wins for me.
    Fans reactions can be surprising at times!

    its funny how matthysse was going to kill garcia in the ring....and now his fans are making all these lame lame lame excuses. The man himself said he lost fair and square to garcia...now bitchesss get over it

    I honestly had it 114-112 for Garcia due to the last 2 rounds being even.

    I honestly don't think a jab could have done that...based on the location and nature of the swelling. It was either that left uppercut/hook on the inside(7th round), the wide left hook that followed immediately after, or simply an accumulation of hooks landed on that one specific spot throughout the fight.

    Vivian harris did it to matthysse at the end of the 3rd round in there fight. I didn't think that punch was that hard at all so...

    Listen Matthysse lost and that's from a Lucas fan, I was very disappointed with Lucas on the night, he may not the worlds greatest boxing skills but he isn't the caveman some make out, he can normally set up an attack very well and he just couldn't get it going vs Danny which is actually credit to Danny but there was no plan B for Team Matthysse that night, that mixed with the eye doomed him to defeat.
