yeah i gave porter the extra 2 round, 7-5. i noticed 2 things during this fight, 1.garcia loses any type of power when you go to his body, perfect gameplan by the porters to slow danny down and make him pretty gun shy when he was tiring. 2.garcia's power even in earlier rounds is questionable at 147. Porter soaked thoseshots up that would have put khan and others on ***** street. porter looks good. i think other top boys would beat him with a good gameplan.
It's actually wack as hell that so few of you guys saw what was so obviously coming with their style-clash considering where both are in their career.
When Porter moved inside he flurried his arms about hoping for the best. Garcia won by a fanny hair on my card
Can't believe I missed this fight and can't believe I had to go to the 2nd page to hear anyone talking about the decision.
No, boxing isn't Tae Bo. Its guys punching each other as much as they possibly can per round, and whether going forward or backward, Porter round in and round out punched Garcia more than Garcia punched him. It couldn't any simpler than that.
I was just about to make a new thread to state exactly what you did. Glad I checked the past posts first. I couldn't agree more. Garcia won that fight. He landed the cleaner, harder punches. Porter, as he always is, was busy and rough, but largely ineffective. What a shame. Garcia earned the decision.
It was a DAMN DRAW I tells ya..... A DAMN DRAW!!!! AND THATS THE BOTTOM LINE CUZ DRENLOU SAYS SO!!!!!!!
I think that's what won him the fight. I don't think that Danny won the fight but I wouldn't have complained if it had been ruled a draw.
While the Showtime commentating crew had a razor close, I didn't see it that way. Thought Porter won going away. Fight was close and competive through 6 rounds, but after that, Porter stepped up his activity level and outworked and outhustled Danny Garcia. I even think Porter landed the cleaner and harder punches for those people that are easily brainwashed by the commentating crew and would side with them that Garcia's punches were cleaner and harder.
Maybe you need to pull your chair a little closer to the screen. Garcia was the only guy landing the telling blows. Watch it again and tell me you feel the same way. Garcia threw far fewer punches but nearly matched blows landed. Work rate doesn't equate to efficacy. This isn't Adelaide using divac as a pseudonym, is it?
efficiency isn't a scoring criteria. Higher connect percentage or not, Porter landed more, in more rounds. And yes, Porter did land a lot of flush shots.
