I'm on a coffee high looking at Danny Garcia's boxrec right now... I was nitpicking at the record (morales and judah: old, etc), but you can't take that prime for prime, head to head victory over Matthysse away from him. In a era where #1 and #2 in a division often do not fight each other, Garcia earned himself one of the sweetest H2H wins in recent memory. We are always discrediting on this site and Garcia gets a lot of flak, but that win over Matthysse will appreciate well. Dug down, finished strong, outboxed and at some points outbrawled the 140 monster that is Matthysse in a fight where he was the underdog. There was a point to this, but I don't remember...good win
it was a ****ty win he didn't dominant lucas he s****ped past it was a very very close fight even with lucas eye shut he couldn't even dominate him
His careers stalled somewhat. After some impressive wins a loss to many against herrera and a win over rod salka doesn't do much to help. After he beats peterson he should move to ww.
I can. Lucas was robbed in that fight by Showtime's house judges. Danny and Angel know they got a gift in that fight and wisely ducked a rematch.
And then he got his ass kicked by Herrera in a near shutout and got the worst gift descision in recent years then fought Rod Salka.
Dont worry, theres guys here who still havent gotten over the Matthyse loss. They all said he was going to decapitate Garcia and when he was beaten, they... a) Went into shock and didnt say anything for a while b) When they eventually recovered they started making excuses and saying the fight was closer than the judges had it, Garcia was dirty . That Matthyse was "unlucky" to be punched in the face and have it swell up etc etc etc
D Garcia was on course for big things, his resume is good and had so much momentum after Matthyse, but they failed to build on it. He lost to Herrera, they took him way too lightly and didn't give him a rematch, a rematch instead of Salka would have been so beneficial as I think a fully focused Garcia beats Herrera.
About 3 idiotic posters said that. I'm a huge Matthysse fan and rank it as a great win for Garcia. It was a close fight but a win is a win, can't take anything away from him.
As a Matthysse fan I thought Garcia dominated that fight clearly it was competitive at point but Garcia took it and earned credit from me for it. It seems like it took a while for both fighter's to recover seeing as both have had there struggle's since.
