Garing Lane made most of his money as a sparring partner for guys like Lennox Lewis. He was Peter McNeeleys main sparring partner for Mike Tyson.
a mismanaged sherman williams. im surprised anyone knew of him. i thought he was a good fighter with decent precision for a guy of his hieght and weight. and for such a big dude, doesn't plod, seems to always have a punch loaded. but could get outworked.
I like some of them sparring partner / club-fighters dude's like: "Garing Lane, Levi Billups, Lionel Butler and Melvin Foster." MR.BILL
This got me thinking, by facing Mercer, Bowe, Berbick, Snipes, Garcia (win!), Williams, Sanders, Mathis, Brewster, Rahman, Neilson, McCline, Tua, Sprott, Guinn and Chagaev, has Lane arguably boxed at a higher level than Vitali Klitschko?
Some great punching there. Didn't particularly care for the referee. Think he should have been hooked or given the 8 earlier for the first KD. Thanks. I'll upload Chagaev-Lane. Lane has arrived on YT!
I love how Rahman mixed it up to the body. He was something when he was young I'd love to see Chagaev-Lane.
Rahman was a lot better when he was light and in shape. He still wasnt the quickest guy, but he was a lot better.
I think he got the Bowe gig after giving Mercer an interesting fight. I remember Lane fondly probably just because, I picked him up early in his career. Mercer and Bowe both fought Garing, with Lane having less than 10 bouts to his name.
