Could've been better but am happy the belt got a new owner for the sole reason GRJ is taking it hostage. At least with magsayo there are good fights to be made.

As for magsayo, ill be frank. I dont think his reign will last long. 126 is not a historically strong division for us and he certainly isnt the best ive seen in our roster but good fights can be made with the likes of warrington, navarette, lara etc. But anyway congrats to the new champ

That's the fight that will be WARS right there. Once again its a nightmare to fight runners and fleet footed slick boxers that are flight than fight. Putting Magsayo with Lara or Navareette is suicide but who he has a punchers chance though. Happy damn runners taking L's left and right and center. Rigo and now this guy Russler Jnr.

Unimpressive peformance by both Magsayo and Russell. It's a joke how Marky Mark couldn't capitalize on an injured, inactive and unmotivated version of Russell. Russell himself looked silly for his comments post-fight.

Magsayo now has to face Rey Vargas next and if Magsayo can't draw Vargas into a war, Vargas will box circles around him.

Did Russell really go in this fight with an injury??

 

It appears he had a rotarar cuff injury on his right shoulder the same injury Pacquiao had vs Floyd which he requested a shot of pain killer. Russell will go under the knife to repair it.Funny how southpaws seem to get injuries like this Loma, Russell and Packito.

 

It's good for the sport of boxing that Mark Magsayo won the title. He may not be a great talent, but he won't hold the belt hostage like Russell did. And he's not a craven runner like Russell, so he'll be in more entertaining fights.
