Man, I hope Magsayo wins. Russell hasn't fought more than once a year since 2014. Somehow, despite that meager schedule he has not been stripped of his WBC belt. He is obviously a good fighter but he's wasting both his career and the title.

Unfortunately, Magsayo was being clearly outboxed by Julio Ceja, which does not bode well for his chances against Russell. Unless GRJ has aged during his layoff it's going to be a tough road for Magsayo.

Finally he’s back. Following Russell is so disappointing but I can’t help being fan of him. He should get the W here, he’s pretty used to ring rust

I guess we're not that sensitive, since none of us have banned your snarky ass.

Russell probably will be a little rusty but should tap out a competitive decision. Regardless, he has been one of the most disappointing beltholders of the past 7-8 years.

Russell should be rusty enough for magsayo to make this competetive. If not then wide UD or late TKO for russell. Hoping magsayo wins as russell might as well be just a paper champ now. There's more business if magsayo is the champ

Russell has definitely squandered his talent and career but he has had some decent fights since Loma .. sparked 3 time champ Gonzalez (great fighter).. Martinez, just took out Galahad & was jobbed against Barrett.. Tug is a solid operator .. Escandon had just sparked Castellanos who was coming off a good win over Gamboa.. & Diaz is an excellent win .. just nothing to set the world on fire unfortunately .. which is a shame because matched up with the right opposition he would be much more highly thought of now because he has the talent to beat them all.. his own fkin fault tho ..

Who cares. How GRJ has hung on the the belt i will never know. He is a waste of time, after this fight it will prob be another 2 years before he fights again.

This wont be postponed hopefully. You never know with the corona situation and omicron. Certain countries like Japan is difficult. Nonetheless, Russell will win by TKO not sold on Magsayo. Overhyped prospect hasn't show any proof or evidence he is world class material. Russell BY TKO 7.

Dude this is most likely taking place in the USA (exact site TBD). We've not had any indications that we're following Japan's example with travel bans for omicron in this country.

One of the greatest wastes off talent in the last generation.

I wonder if his youngest brother will be on the bill.

    He seems an exciting prospect.

With some good matchmaking, you could see 3 Russells with a belt simultaneously over the next year or two

The groundhog has finally come out of hibernation. How this guy is still a champion is beyond me. Such a disappointment how a fighter of Gary Russell Jr's talents is so wasted on just fighting once a year.

In any case this is a great fight and I'm so glad that he's finally got a good opponent that could potentially give him a good challenge. Really excited about this. Russell's experience should give him the edge but won't be counting out Magsayo. This could be Magsayo's moment.

It is hard to know how a fighter will behave after 2 years inactive. But GRJ is one of the best talents we have in boxing. It's a shame he doesnt fight more often :( Or at least he was, let's see how will he perform tomorrow... I hope he performs well, I like his boxing.
