It came up; I'm curious. Who do we like h2h?

(tl;dr context for anyone too lazy/wary to click the hyperlink: I posited that when contrasting the strength of different eras, one should look at depth of quality down the roster, as opposed to just the champions, as top-heavy doesn't equate to "strong", IMO. To illustrate this point, I mentioned that DB is probably in the bottom third of a current top 15 head to head at heavyweight; whereas if you rewind thirty years GM would be found in a more or less identical spot).

Mason was 6′ 1½″, Breazeale is 6 ft 7 in.

The hulking American super heavyweight lost by stoppage in his two biggest steps up (against Wilder and Joshua); so did the brick-house Jamaican-Brit, once, in his own biggest match against Lewis. As far as wins, Breazeale's of note are, in rough descending quality order, Izuagbe Ugonoh, Amir Mansour, Éric Molina, Carlos Negrón, Victor José Bisbal, and Nagy Aguilera. Mason's were Tyrell Biggs, James Pritchard, Quick Tillis, Rickey Parkey, Alonzo Ratliff, and Bigfoot Martin.

Breazeale's most powerful opponents were probably Ugonoh and his two conquerors. Likewise, the hardest puncher Mason faced by far was The Lion...although it should be noted he was stopped only due to eye damage and was never down. The only super heavyweights Mason ever fought in the same neighborhood of physical dimensions as Breazeale were Lennox himself (6'5"), Biggs (also 6'5"), Jaco (6'6"), Scaff (6'5"), and Eddie Richardson (6'6").

Mason for me, he's just better.

This match up made my head hurt in a way that I don't want to feel again.

Despite having a significant height advantage, Breazy tends to get clipped anyway... and often enough. Breazy is willing to get up off of the canvas and keep brawling (if need be), but I'd still take Mason here.

Mason by ko mid rnds .Breazy is too fragile to cope with Garrys power .A similar result to the Biggs fight.

Mason connects suddenly in mid rounds and drops Breazy. He'd clamber up but Gary drops him down again. He attempts to climb up but he's waved over.

Mason late, but coming from behind like he did when he fought Biggs.
