I've also heard that Gary is getting £250k + for the fight and at the end of the day for a heavyweight bout with 2 undefeated fighters 1 English and 1 Scottish then the numbers do add up. The English vs Scotland clash will help sell it to the casuals too.

He has nothing to lose here.... I think he gets worked, but even then he'll get a career high payday and not lose much stock. Nobody expects him to win, or even do well here, so really he has nothing to lose.

Made no sense to me at first, but having thought about it 20% (£200k) seems about right - Cornish has done nothing and this will be an easy fight, most likely, but in business terms he can't really be paid any less. It's a boxing match after all, to pay him say 15% would be quite a disgrace as there is a lot of risk involved. Lots of money in Joshua fights with him being an Olympian and a young hard-hitting prospect.

Unsure this will sell hugely to the casuals though. The Whyte fight may, mind. Just my opinion though :good

Cornish is good enough to lose gallantly if not win or just go the 12..

He carries a bit of everything.. albeit a weak chin too.. but he's good skills.. bit of power and heart from getting up.

I wouldn't even think that, if he has then I'm delighted for him he's managed to earn more than world champs who've had many defences lol

I know he has had Richard Towers and Carl Spencer up in Inverness as his sparring partners.

Dont think he will be much of a test for Joshua, early night again I think.

From what I've seen he's just a guy with an extremely padded record and not much else to show for it. Doesn't matter if he comes to win, he's not getting past the 2nd

    £250K? ****ing dream on.

Eubank Jr got £75k for the BJS fight, no chance Cornish is getting a quarter of a million.

Again though, if it went to purse bids and some how Eddie Hearn lost, that could potentially have meant the fight would've been off Sky. If Maloney or Hearn made a bid of 400K or 500K, GC would've gotten half of that.

I don't think GC is getting a big pay day (assuming he is) because he is a world class fighter. I think it could be because Eddie Hearn wanted to make sure he promoted the event, that the fight happened in London, and was on Sky. If there was no belt on the line, GC would certainly have gotten a lot less.

    He'd just pull him out.

Nobody is paying that useless lump Cornish 250k for what will be about 6 minutes work at most.

Maybe. I would say closer to the 100K Dillian suggested.
