I thought it would have been a good fight for Dubois at this stage. Obviously it’s a good fight for Hrgovic. I don’t think Hrgovic is as good as is made out on the general forum but still give Cornish absolutely no chance.
Always thought Cornish had one of the worst padded records at heavyweight and basically in boxing, until he fought Joshua. People trashed Wilder's first 20 opponents, but that's like murderers row compared to Cornish' first 20 opponents.
He must be yeah, the Dubois fight was defo getting mentioned and I’m sure that would have been a fair payday. Go over to Croatia and take a beat down then your stock is going to plummet too.
Matched correctly he could claim the British title - but I'm very much emphasising on matched correctly. Sexton has already beat him then the likes of Joyce, Gorman, Dubois and David Price all walk through him. Dave Allen also beats him. People bang on about his padded record but he had to learn much of his trade in the pro's and I can't imagine the sparring he was getting during those early days were great where he was based... so a lot of travelling involved. But he's jumped in with AJ and now Hrgovic so good luck to him.
Cant see him winning the British Title, Sexton is weakest champion in a long time and he beat him away from home. Look at Dubious, Gorman, Joyce coming through. All much better than Cornish so is Allen, Price and Webb.
Let’s put it this way guys. Cornish in reality isn’t any better than Little, and as soon as Hrgovic had Little hurt with one shot the fight was over 30 seconds later. So Hrgovic only needs to catch Cornish once and it’s going to be over very quickly because Hrgovic is extremely accurate.
I remember when Joshua and him fought...i thought Cornish was going to give AJ a nightmare of a fight. Looked and felt such a mug lmao.. Would of like to seen him get fed to Dubois but oh well... Dont want to derail the thread but does anyone know any other names who Dubois might be up against next?
It’s a hard one because he’s clearly a level about Scottish level but not quite British level IMO. He’s just fluttering in no mans land. Being realistic he’s not in the top 10 British heavyweights. Joshua, Fury x2, Bellew, Whyte, Chisora, Dubois, Gorman, Joyce are comfortably ahead of him. Sexton has beat him. I’d back to Pricey to beat him.
Cornish always looks a bit flat, almost drained of speed and power, big lad but lacks the explosive bursts that you see from top fighters. Shame things never worked out with Billy Nelson thought that was a good move for him.
