All of them though they were better than messing around domestically with each other. In the end none really made the leap forward and British boxing had a lot of missed fights at 154.
Agreed, I'd rather they fought each other and lost though then what happened which was most of them losing to Eastern European's who we'd never of again or before that. Richard Williams was chucked in with some nobody called Sergio Martinez... Takaloo to his credit seemed most willing out of all of them, Took on and took out Farnell in front of his home fans. Sparked by Wayne Alexander.. So many punchers about, Steve Roberts was a tidy boxer. Seemed mentally not there the way he just sorta jacked it in was really strange.
I don't remember exactly but he had some sort of allergy/ breathing problem that affected his training and stamina. It turned out some material or filling in his pillows was causing it.
he impressed me in his work with Gavin Rees and how he talked about different fighters need different tactics (Gallagher take note)
yes, i thought the same. i also think if he was in the corner for the afolobi fight enzo wouldnt have lost.
Gary has the potential to be an excellent trainer, worked with him in the gym and at shows, very calm and most importantly he cares about his fighters and doesn't suffer fools gladly. Good on you my taffy pal!!!
Will be interesting to see how Hope copes with Barker tomorrow, he done well in the first Proska fight but was outclassed a bit in the second fight. I think Barker will KO him late on.
The injuries and lay off are normal with Darren i just got a edgy feeling about this bout. Dunno but when he's talking to Ifilm he seems to be a slow with his words. Noticed a big black eye in a Sun video interview posted a week back. Just hope he's not hoping he's fine and really isn't. I think he may take a little while to get going, Hope is a decent fighter. I think with Lockett he will have a good gameplan. Will be a decent fight because Hope's not going to run and he's got decent enough tools to make a fight of things. Noticed this fight's at 168lbs so no excuses for being drained at weight. I will go with Barker to win late on..
I like his advice. He could do with a fighter or two except Rees. The corpse of Enzo isn't the greatest look, Jesus himself couldn't train a decent performance out of him at this stage. Hopefully one or two people are willing to give a young trainer a chance.
I saw it! Enjoy the card fella. Good points about his speech and black eye, I'd noticed that too. Although I think the Proksa win flatters Hope a little, he is no mug and isn't a gimme fight after an injury-laden layoff for Barker. Hope has a chance IMO.
