The Gary Mason who gave the green but very deadly Lennox Lewis a underrated slugfest in '91, versus the Liakhovich who defeated Lamon Brewster in their terrific '06 slugfest. I feel that this would be a close, brutal slugfest war between two brave warriors, very fan-friendly indeed. :!: Gary Mason ('91 Lewis), 235lbs, 6′ 1½″ This content is protected vs. Siarhei Liakovich ('06 Brewster), 238½lbs, 6′ 4″, 74½″ This content is protected
I would favour Mason too, but i wonder how long this fight would last, both were durable & liked to trade bombs. :!:
Interesting fight. Mason had that big record of course, but to me looked like a guy whose parachute was about to open. And when it did he was going to be in trouble. I kind of thought it may have happened if there had been that Bruno match--man, how many tickets would've been sold for that one? I guess a shaky vote for Liakovich. Hardly sold on him but I think his toughness see's him through in this. Big heart and conditioning get the job done late. He weathers the storms and does better as the fight goes on & then the parachute opens for Mason. But the way Liakovich gets hit so easy and often and the way he leans into punches is real dangerous against this guy.
a very hard fight with both happy to let the punches go , i favour mason but my worry is that he will start to tire and perhaps badly once the fight goes past 8 rounds
