Joyce is 1-4 in his last 5 fights he got ruined by Zhang. Joyce at one time was a top ranked contender but not when Chisora fought him. Don't get me wrong I've warmed to Chisora in recent years but I'd consider him a step below the top guys of his era.
Why do you have to be constantly sarcastic when anyone challenges your views ? You've made a statement which is factually incorrect. Chisora never made it a top level which you insinuated he did which is not true simple as that.
He has several wins, including Joyce, who are good fighters. He has challenged for several world title belts. How did Mason do by contrast?
Joyce was no longer a world class top 10 Heavyweight when Chisora fought him as I've already said. Yes Chisora has some solid wins and has had some decent performances against notable fighters. But he never made it at top level he fell short Chisora would be considered a gatekeeper/fringe contender he's never been ranked in the top 10.
"As of January 2024, Chisora is ranked as the world's tenth-best active heavyweight by BoxRec.[2] He has been ranked by BoxRec as among the world's top 10 heavyweights since 2013, reaching his highest ranking at No. 5 in 2013 and 2020.[3] Chisora's knockout-to-win percentage stands at 65%.[4]" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Derek_Chisora
So you're trolling by using boxrec rankings yeah I've think this conversation has run it's course. Good day to you.
I know Mickey Duff protected his boxers and Gary did have a little bit of a padded record. But he did have some good names on there. Such as James Tillis who had boxed, Tyson, Holyfield, shavers, Bruno, Witherspoon, and loads more world class boxers, Biggs, Everett martin, Pritchard, Jess Harding, Watch him a against Harding, he destroyed him, and I just watched Biggs fight better than I remember. Plus he was a good guy Gary, and was great on sky sports boxing. shame what happened to him.
I could be wrong, but I don't think either has ever beaten a Ring top 10 ranked contender. Chisora has beaten more fringe contenders, but then he's lost to more contenders and fringe contenders, too. We can be much more certain about Chisora's level (top 20, but not top 10, in the world) than we can Mason's. Picking Chisora as the more proven fighter is reasonable. My guess, with little confidence, is Mason with a narrow points win, though I wouldn't rule out him getting stopped with an eye injury.
We never saw the best of Mason but we've seen everything Chisora has to offer, which makes picking a winner difficult. I think peak Del Boy would wear Mason down for a narrow points or late stoppage win, but anything less than his best and he'd be going home early.
