posted this on here as this is a brit fighter, personally i hope haye beats valuev but feel his stamina may be a problem and others feel his size will be a problem so how do other brit posters think a fight between gary mason and valuev would go .i personally think mason would get a pts over valuev
Masons been retired nearly 15 yrs.You gettin the two of em mixed up? Mason would stand in front of the giant and that would be a mistake. Can see haye losing this one quite clearly
no what i meant was i would like haye to beat valuev but feel his stamina may let him down and was just wondering how mason would do against valuev if he were in his prime say and fighting in this era of heavyweights
Mason would'nt be elusive enough for valuev. I could see him catching everything from valuev. Tough fighter though mason, i liked him !
yeah i agree with you but just thinking valuev big as he is dont really punch and mason did take some good shot's from lewis
I watched some footage of valuev the other day, and was quite suprised how quick his hands are. Yeah mason did take some big shots from lewis, i also remember wanting mason to shut him up bigtime. Watched the fight not so long ago and u could see how much the one shot on his eye from lewis really hurt mason, but he came storming back.
Mason v Valuev would be a bad fight for Gary.He only struggled with long reach fighters. However Mason v Haye would be a better choice and I'd pick Mason for early KO.
Haye beats Valuev, Valuev is one of the worst champions I have ever seen. Slow & poderous, Haye will defeat him & make a massive name form himself, undeservedly so as everyone knows John Ruiz & an ancient Holyfield outboxed him, but didnt get the decision. & if those two can tame the beast? Haye most certainly will. Hayes got lucky landing the modern day Mike the giant White. As for Gary Mason, he would have had more trouble with Valuev, as he was every bit as slow as him! Valuev would probably win a decision against Gary Mason in a complete snoozefest. A good big 'un beats a good little 'un when they have similar attributes.
There was nothing particularly great about Gary Mason that I remember. He seemed a nice enough chap and had a decent backing relative to his status. I think the fact that he is British and on Lennox's resume, maybe allots him a bit more credibility than he perhaps deserves. I think Valuev would have beat him.
Mason would have walked into the Valuev jab all night long. Mason was ok, but did not have the skills at this level.
Gary was a good heavyweight. He had a proper row with Lennox. I'd like to see him in Friday's Prizefighter:Heavyweights III. I'm trying to get him at the show on Tuesday night at the FYMFYG Bar, near York Hall. Adios.
Would be a good fight for Valuev. Mason wouldn't have reached him enough but would have been competitive without winning many rounds.
